Is motocross the only occupation where injuries occur?

Yes

They will be back for MXON in 2027 to race for USA as they will be US citizens by then.   Roczen will be 3rd USA rider is in his retirement ride.  To make it even more epic, Chad Reed will take over the reins from Roger DeCoster as Team USA manager.    STAMP IT !!!!

Only bitter Aussies will touch that down vote.   😘

Also coincides with a new bike with completely new engine that I am sure they want some time to figure out.

On the plus side, it’d be a good opportunity for the Aussie team to blood some young riders at Nations with no pressure, or a Webster, Beaton, Cannon team would still be solid.

Maybe I am just too high on him but if I’m AUS I’m putting Kayden on the team. Outdoors the dude has unreal potential.

Yeah nah piss poor I reckon.. it’s 1 extra week, Aussie has a 2-year streak going. Whilst healthy and able, just run the extra week. Next year isn’t a given, shit happens. I fully understand the need for a break and taking off the other off season races though. C’mon, Aussies wanna see the 3-peat!

I understand the decision but if I was an Aussie I would be disappointed. Especially with a better 250 rider to choose. I imagine Minear will be ripping and learning from racing the Nationals by the time the MXdN rolls around

I'm sure everyone will be completely objective and the takes and discussion will be completely consistent with MXdN participation discussions of the past. I'm talking to you, eurostralians. lol

Deegs nut huggers aren't much for big picture thinking.  They seem to move on to the next shiny object pretty quickly.🤣

They've earned their break. They put in the work for years and something tells me that Australia will be the favorites again in 2027.

do you get life altering injuries every year or? Do you have weekends off? Do you push your body to an absolute limit without breaks 50 weeks per year? These dudes aren’t just working lol they’re literally putting their life and body on the line every single day…

Not saying you don’t, but the likelihood that you’ll end your career with 5-10 injuries that require surgery is highly unlikely

I like conspiracies.   Are they scheduled to shoot a documentary or some such?

Yea, pretty well earned rest I think.

Beaton and Webster on the 450s seems like a no brainer. I know Cannon has had good results in EMX but I think Kayden is the better pick this year.  Bit of a bummer for either of those boys to debut without Jett and Hunter but doing it without the pressure might also be a relief.

This is “Optional Overtime” that they’re deciding to take a break from. And they’ve earned it.

WTF is wrong with some of you people? This is at the riders option. There’s no MANDATE that says it MANDATORY.

Of all the riders that I can completely understand wanting to take a break? It’s the Aussie boys that’ve been running it hard since they landed in America.

And when they do come back…they’ll pick up where they left off.

I’ve got a set up where my boss is 100% cool with me doing 50-60 hour weeks followed by 20 hour weeks. But I work in project management for a manufacturing company so the cycle allows for that.

I don’t recall Deegan ever racing MXoN. It’s almost like some people are more gracious to riders who routinely have showed up to the event vs. dodging it all together.

I wonder if the Coenens do MXON actually this year. Their schedule is absolutely disgusting if the rumors of them doing three nationals is true and apparently racing Paris SX on top of that. With the MXON and Paris and also moving to the US in the off-season they basically have zero free weekends and then only 5-6 weeks of preparation until SX starts.

I did hear Darren say that in an interview a while ago and was selfishly hoping he didn't mean des Nations.. Sucks for Aus but we're sick of winning now be good to give another country a chance haha We can probably still win with Beaton Webster and Minear..

You can if you accept the cost.

I get it but I feel like skipping the nations is a decision they will come to regret. Besides being such a difficult event to win Hunter and Webster aren't getting any younger so who knows how many more they can get in the future.

There was once a rider that was absolutely raked over the coals for not participating even though it was his team preventing it. Very few seemed to care about the truth in that case though.

I'm gutted, not being in the US us Euro's love the rare opportunities to see these guys ride. The Jett vs Gasjer battle at Matterly was epic.

But I do respect their decision, their calendar is long, and with lingering injuries some extra time off is no doubt best for Jett.

It is great to watch them ride. Generational talent. They seem to have super cruise capability.

Lots of great riders have skipped it at different times for different reasons - including RC, Stew, and Windham at least from the US.

Some people are okay with it, some not, and there's not really any way to please everyone when a rider decides what's best for him any given year.

MXoN isn't their job, is it?

Also, if you were making enough money that you could afford to pick and choose when you worked, you probably would.

Best possible USA team would probably be Deegan, Sexton and Hammaker?  I'm guessing they wouldn't be the favorites, but they'd have a shot.
