Has it happened to you? The design is the same as the 450r so it is either bad luck or something was machined out of spec.

I don’t hate it either I just liked the other alternate color versions better. Of course they didn’t charge extra for those.

I wish Yamaha would bring back that yellow instead of the Monster plastic.

So you have the forks twisting in the clamps on minor tip overs too? Your kid isn’t the type that can break an anvil with a rubber hammer is he?

Added reply in a thread Tires for sandy single track 11/22/2021 6:25 PM

Pirelli mid soft rear (xc and mx32 rear have same general patterns) is the best non sand specific tire I have used in sand. You can get the Dunlop mx12 in a 110/100/18 rear. I think it is the only 18” sand tire you can get. It is also a bit of a hybrid ... more »

Added reply in a thread When do the 22 YZ Smokers get shipped? 11/18/2021 11:19 AM

MXa said Monday for a yz125 video so that must be when the press embargo is up.

Added reply in a thread Osborne Retiring? 11/18/2021 7:54 AM

Those don't really completely heal. The vertebrae can wear from rubbing together too much and then those sharp points push into muscle and cause issues. It is possible to mitigate somewhat with training but there is a limit to what can be done. It is ... more »

Added reply in a thread WTB KTM/HUSQ/GASGAS stock or aftermarket barmounts 11/17/2021 5:39 AM

Gasgas are hard mount that screw right into the top of the triple clamp. I think they are completely different from KTM SX/SX-F with the rubber bushings.

Were they blowing engines up at 80 hours? No maintenance other than oil changes?

If I am a 34 in Astar/Fly and a 36 in TLD pants then which size would I need for FXR?

You missed the best part of that exchange. Chad’s response was “well you did endo last time you rode”

The weights are odd to me. The Suzuki gained 15lbs of fuel? The YZ and KX gained 12 lbs? That should be 2 gallons but on paper the Austrians have slightly bigger tanks.

Added reply in a thread Do factory guys get to “pick” pipes anymore? 11/11/2021 7:37 AM

Two strokes develop a lot of their power curve from the pipe because there are no valves like a 4 stroke. The pressure waves in the pipe are crucial to where and how the engine generates power. The pipe almost acts like a turbo charger when you are on ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2022 CRF250R 11/8/2021 6:39 AM

I have the Luxon mount with rubber cones. I am about to crank the fork lug bolts because I think that is where it is twisting. The Luxon mount does keep the bars from twisting. At this point as much as I like the engine I am thinking about going back ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2022 CRF250R 11/7/2021 4:52 AM

So the aluminum cones kept the upper and lower triple clamps from twisting relative to each other?

Added reply in a thread 2022 CRF250R 11/6/2021 6:55 PM

I have a one piece mount. It is not where the twisting is happening. I think it is mostly the fork lugs.

Added reply in a thread 2022 CRF250R 11/6/2021 4:30 PM

Well I had a get off on a trail and the bike fell over and forks were misaligned again. It took one good whack against a tree to straighten them. I don’t know which is worse, that it took such a small fall to twist them or that is was so easy to straighten ... more »

Nothing on the frame. I am not sure what it looked like on the clamps but I think it is gone there too.

Their contingency is about half of Honda's for the same races. That is pretty good considering you just need to wear a pair of $42 goggles (retail) to qualify.
