There’s plenty of evidence around that GP bikes aren’t the exotic full works machines that they used to be. Australia hadn’t had a problem winning MXoN the last two years on AMA spec bikes.

My theory is similar - in 2022 he gave Tomac all he could handle, nearly won the title, then won a bunch of SX races in ‘23, won the title (maybe a bit fortuitously but nonetheless showed the speed). Probably believed he was on a trajectory to clean up for the next 4-5 years. Along comes Jett and in ‘23...

The advantage the Lawrences have isn’t that there’s two of them, it’s that they are brothers AND they’ve been brought up with a strong sense of family. Each is as heavily invested in the other's success as their own. No individual riders are going to share with and support another elite rider on a team the way the brothers do...

Don’t necessarily disagree but If I remember correctly, RV was injured outdoors a couple seasons when Dungey won. Also recall one of the years, he was not getting along with the bike at all and Kawasaki let him switch to the new bike early, and his results changed immediately. I would say Jett and RC would have been a tough competitor for RV, but also think with a healthy RV, they wouldn’t have had perfect season outdoors. He would have won some.

Outdoors I'd back Jett or RC to beat RV. He only won 12 450 overalls in his career. His MXoN results on the 250 were great but he only raced on the 450 once in 2011, for 10-1 moto scores, although he still won his class (MX3).

I think they should help, or cover, basic costs for teams to come over. Bikes and parts shipment, and a set number of team support. Take in to account the cost to fly over vs close drive. As for riders..I actually don’t want riders paid. Why? If you watched the race, it wasn’t about that for the riders there. Are you going to pay “x” rider what he thinks he is worth…and then not pay the number 3 man from Team Mexico? It changes the spirit of the event that I just watched. Fuck that…If someone like Deegan doesn’t want...

How many riders actually progress year to year? The permanent number system is way more suited to marketing and branding opportunities, not to mention ease of identifying riders on the track.

If the replay of a race isn’t up yet, and they are normally pretty quick, you can rewind back through the stream to watch previous races (on the same day).

Yep, I’ve watched every MXGP round this year. There’s no app, just access via the website. Only thing I’ve found is Chrome is a bit finicky, for me it works much better using Safari or Edge.
