It absolutely wouldn't have mattered who else lined up in 2023. Chase in 2023 is still one of the fastest guys we have ever seen and he couldn't lead a single lap vs Jett. Chase was faster than in 2022 and he traded motos with the best Tomac we have seen every weekend that year. 2023/2024 Chase would have still won overalls this year. Also not only that, talking about that a perfect season like that is so disprespectful, just staying off the ground (as a rookie) in general and having zero bike problems is almost impossible in this sport...

FFS, you can't declare a rivalry "settled" when it hasn't even started. Once Deegs can win an overall, lead laps, and is directly battling with the Aussies on the track consistently THEN the rivalry can START! Until then, Deegan is just the cute little puppy sitting in the corner barking up a storm while the two big dogs in the room eat his food with not a care in the world, only mildly worrying about each other.

Media = RiVaLrY Reality: There's only been 3 guys that have beaten the Lawrences for an outdoor overall win since they moved up to the 450 class. Sexton (5x), Tomac (2x), and Plessinger (1x). Since 2024 when Hunter moved up, only one has beaten both for an overall and it's Sexton who did it twice. The only rivalry at the top is between the brothers. Edit: beaten both in a moto, not overall.

Is everyone else tired of the same talk every week between deegan vs jett? The only rivalry building is jett vs Hunter and deegan vs prado. Jett has beat deegan 12 out of 14 motos and the 2 he did not is because of a crash. Yes deegan is good, but the reality is he has not lead a single lap. Of course he will eventually win a moto or overall, but others have beat the lawrences also but no one can do it often. I dont understand how this can still be the talk of the week 7 rounds...

yeah but Deegs isn't racing RV2,Dungey, Reed, Stewart, Roczen or prime Tomac. Other wise Deegs would be further back in points? (more than the current 50 points he is back..) See how silly that sounds?

"he is doing great, especially being a 450 Rookie." Depends on who you compare him with. With other 250 MX champs that moved up? Then no. Stat wise in the last 10 years the only upcoming 250 MX champs that did worse in their rookie years were Webb and AP. Zacho, Cianciarulo, Ferrandis, Jett, and Hunter all did better in their first outdoor year.

7/20/2026 11:04am Lap times lap time lap times. Who gives a shit?? Lots of reasons someone has a faster lap any one lap. Lappers, traffic, tip over, mistake, cruising a lead, ect…. Comparing single lap times shows people that have never raced. Heck…38th place probably beat Jett’s lap time while his bar was in his boot. All that matters is crossing first...

I reckon that was an interesting race. As we who know the sport have seen, when in the lead Jett is usually happy to hold a 2 to 3 second lead. However, in this race he was up to 7 seconds. I reckon it shows he's much more wary of Hunter's speed than of any of his other competition, meaning he feels he needs more of a buffer.

He has gotten no closer than round 1 and people are talking like it’s consistent progress 20-30 seconds behind whatever brother is leading every moto pretty infallibly. Great rookie season if he didn’t make a shirt that said RIP to the defending champ and claim he was going to win. He set that bar too high himself. That’s on him for not meeting unrealistic standards.
