This is it. I'd go further and reduce SX to 12 rounds, have a decent few weeks in between SX and outdoors for recovery. Spread the wealth across both series, create a purse for privateer of the year, something like that. Have one legitimate hybrid race as a season finale. This year's smx in particular is a joke. Last week's track, regardless of the mud, was shit. This week is much the same. Not only is it not hybrid, it's a dumbed down SX track. The first year of smx had legit hybrid tracks that were exciting but it's gotten...

Personally, I'd rather we lose SMX, add the 12th national back to the schedule, and have the fun off season races back (Monster Cup & Red Bull Straight Rhythm) over this gimmicky "World Championship." Gives the guys some time off or time to get some clean-up surgeries before getting into SX testing for the next year. As for the money, spread it across SX and MX.

This.... It is a series made up simply to hurt a competitor... none of the manufacturers want it.... it's never taken off.... the races are on half ass tracks at half ass venues... then they straight up lie about it being a world championship as well as a "playoff".... Mec hell yes... rb straight rythem hell yes... a wonky azz 3 race "series" hellllll nooo....

I’m ok if they got rid of it completely and had 1 big award and trophy for the guy that did the best out of both series.

Same. A couple laps into the first 450 moto I just genuinely lost all interest. The event, the stadium itself, the mud, the points structure making the first round a null…just didn’t care at all SX mud races are boring. I’ve never watched one and been excited about it.

First race I turned off. Track was rubbish, Racing was garbage. SMX sucks.

This is exactly how I feel about it. Does being SMX champion overshadow the SX and outdoor champion? Not in my mind. I don’t really care who is SMX champ. I’ll only value the SX & outdoor champs.

I don't always agree with Matthes but I'm kinda in his camp as far as SMX is concerned. Feels forced. Roczen is SX champ. Hunta's the outdoor champ. Throw in the MXdN and Bercy and I'm good. I'm not getting excited about a race in Carson California.

I found it boring not so much because it was a mud race, but just because of the SMX playoffs in general. Still feels to me like a massive gimmick. Especially how for some reason you get more points in the next 2 races. Why arnt all 3 races the same amount of points? Just seems like manufactured drama so the last race always comes down to the wire. Just my opinion.

never been a fan of SX mudders..........negates all the spectacle watching the field plod along in 1st gear.... leave the mudders to the great outdoors.

the vast majority of the field isn't there to win, just to finish 3 more races for the paycheck... this is particularly bad at the 1st rd because you can do poorly there and more than make up the pts at rd2 and 3...

270lbs is a porky bike no matter what it feels like on the track. Certainly a place for them but not sure if pro level is the way to go. They got it wrong with four strokes in both classes displacement wise. I'd hate to see another mistake.
