Deegan is a YouTuber that just happens to be really good at motocross. His fans aren't moto fans, they know nothing about moto and are following him because he's famous from YouTube.
This narrative that he's "bringing new fans to the sport" and "growing the sport" is laughable. Moto fans will always be moto fans, new riders come into the sport, shine, then retire. Those moto fans will still support moto and the next rider they are interested in. If Deegan announced tomorrow that he's quitting moto and doing something else, 95% of his fans would disappear from moto because they don't care about moto and are just weird YouTube fans of dumb shit like this and other leaches on society like Jake Paul.

Yep have said it many times, if all you care about is money, then this kind of stuff is ultimately counterproductive and it's baffling to me that some of the grown ups who have invested heavily in his brand haven't been able to get this through to him. The potential payout for him being the golden boy far exceeds any possible payout that can come from this..... if you have no shame and will do anything for $$$, just fake being a decent human being and get rich. But he seemingly can't do that, which destroys the argument that doing this is all just calculated to get us to talk and make him money. No, that's not it. The motivation for these antics is obviously something else besides money. Insecurity and a fragile ego is my guess, but who knows....
I’m not a bedbug, but also not a hater, i’m in the middle, still very much a fan. But that was probably the worst video he’s ever posted. That was absolutely disgusting, so bad it’s only a little bit funny. On top of that, in his latest video him, his girl and filmer go to a crepe place when they were in miami to get a taste of france since they weren’t there. He mentions mxon and pronounces it mx-on, and that told me just how much he cares about the event, joking or not. Also, he posts AI girls on his snapchat, i’m like dude, you have a freaking girlfriend, maybe respect her more than this.

Deegan seems oddly obsessed with Jett. I remember after that one race when he ran with him for a bit (probably when he was cutting the track) he kept looking over at him while sitting in the tent, like he wanted Jett to acknowledge him in some way. I can't think of any past champion that would behave the way he does.
These posts made me wonder if the AMA would ever fine or suspend, or take some sort of actions against a rider for doing something like this? Like you said something like this would not be overlooked in most workplaces.
Its not a stretch to think that if some pro football player did something like that , that they would face some sort of actions from their team or league .
If the messages in a private group chat with team managers and Feld could be grounds for some sort of suspensions, why wouldn't something like this be similar?
It could be seen as actions that are detrimental to the sport. Or some sort of sportsmanship conduct violation. Jett got fined for flipping him off. Sure it was at a race, but which would have a bigger potential to have somebody think poorly about motocross and the riders? And he posted on his official social media , an account that most likely has held press credentials for his videographer.
And lets say that this post is not meeting the threshold of getting punished by the AMA. What does everybody think about the idea of the AMA penalizing a rider for something they say or do on social media? The publicity Deegan has brought in from social media has been one of the positives that people point to ,saying that it has helped get new eyes on the sport etc. Can you really claim the attention is great and amazing for the sport, and not also say that negative attention on that same platform is not bad for the sport ?
I'm not calling for some sort of action by the AMA or whoever. I'm just wondering what other people think about something like that happening.

Deegan does not give two sh!ts about what VitalMXers say or bitch about regarding his social accounts. He’s arguably one of the two or three fastest racers in the US. He’s literally making millions while the majority of mxers hang drywall or fill their pouches with roofing nails and work in the sun all day.
Like him or not, this kid has busted his ass his entire life (“Oh, but he was born into a rich family “🙄) and his hard work and driven lifestyle has gotten him to where he is. His father was a master of marketing and understanding what buttons to push to get people to literally line his pockets with cash. All he had to do was act like a rebel, and your daddy couldn’t get his wallet open fast enough to buy the Militia gear.
Ask yourself this… if your mommy handed you a million bucks, would you have worked hard enough to get where this kid is now? I’m betting that for 99.99% of the population, the answer is hell no.
