I would think that he will absolutely be a contender for the title. Anyone that says otherwise may not follow the sport as closely as most of us do.
well alright then.
I’d love to see Forkner have a good season, he’s been a nearly man a lot of times in sx. Can’t deny the talent is certainly there. I don’t follow any social media so have no idea about that side of him but the guy has serious grit and has had some nasty injuries to come back from. Internal organ injuries are no joke. Sounds like he’s changed it up so we’ll see if it pays off.
He should not be to close to that Honda golden boy or his blond perfection might walks over to the honda pit. You know how much they like championships.

I don't hate him.
Wasn't Sexton his rival as an amateur? Kind of a Villopoto/Allessi kind of thing?
Wife.
I think this is true for a lot of these guys
It was his spleen I think. Pretty gnarly crash. And he came back to winning pace after that almost instantly without any racing in between. The incident with Jett was really unlucky for him, I don't think he would have beaten him in the championship, but he still deserved to be out there winning races. I hope both Forkner and AC finally have a good year without gnarly injuries.
I thought the hot chick he was engaged to dumped him.
Dude, I luv ya; but, ya REALLY need to read the ENTIRE post.
This just became a “Hook, Line & Sinker” Troll Post and I did my damnedest for it to NOT BE ONE!
Shit, I'm wit' ya, I ain't mad at cha
Got nothin' but love for ya, do your thing, boy
kid loves himself waaaaaaaaaay too much.
similar to AC with the injuries, but AC is such a class act and handles himself very humbly....and then there's Forkner. And unless there are some specific examples, I honestly don't remember a specific "thing" he's really done wrong...he just has this super arrogant demeanor about him that obviously many people pick up on.
Austin reminds me of Kelly Leak from the Bad news bears. I hope he has a good full season this time.
Austin has made big changes for 2023, I'm sure this will translate into a stellar year.
Anyway, go Team Australia, Jett and Hunter.
I like him
Who is he riding a 450 for in outdoors?
Forkner is someone who has the raw riding talent to be top 5 in the big bike class on any given weekend. He just has to stop the silly mistakes, be in race shape, and get his mind right. Definitely not a lack of talent. Kid can rip on a dirt bike.
Say what you want about Forkner, the man has great political viewpoints and his girlfriend is a great role-model for other girls. We need women who take care of themselves. Obesity and slobbishness leads to the early death of about half our girls

I agree. I have to give him credit he is tough as nails and determined to be the best, which has also been his downfall too unfortunately. Most people would've called it a day after the list of injuries he has racked up. But he keeps plugging away. Ya he is socially awkward, but he grew up in the middle of no where training to be a pro racer, so he is naive. Imagine being a Midwestern farm boy and going to Socal at 16 with everyone kissing your ass. It probably blew his mind. Not a fan but he is tough.
It was a 2002 Honda Cr 250 foot-peg that tried to kill him at A1 in his Honda debut. I remember how his body kinda stopped mid crash when it stuck him. I also remember a pic of the foot-peg with fabric from his pants stuck on it. Brutal.
I don't get it, am I supposed to hate him for exercising his rights, for using proper eye protection, proper hearing protection or for using proper trigger discipline? As someone who does Cerakote, I'm just disappointed that the carpet doesn't match the drapes on the gun.
Carpet doesn't match the drapes on the gun, c'mon man. Sometimes I feel I'm wasting comedy gold on you guys.
After his crash in the finale at SLC in 2020 I think he lost his spleen plus a portion of his pancreas. Spleens and kidneys have been common moto casualties forever, but Forkner is the first person I've ever heard of who has physically damaged his pancreas. It's pretty central and somewhat protected. Anyway, incredibly gnarly injuries.
I think Austin just needs a bit of training on the media front, a lot of his interviews don't come off super well. He's probably much different in person. Love him or hate him, when he is fit and riding well his corner speed on a SX track is super impressive. That's his secret sauce on the track and it's fun to watch.
I don't mind him, ill respect anyone who speaks their mind right or wrong as long as it's not hurting anybody.
For his riding, I've watched him closely when hes fit and firing he has speed however I've never seen him be in fully control when he's at his best it's like his brain wants to go really fast but he can't quite keep it under control it could be technique related, however last SX season he seemed more composed.
SKY'S THE LIMIT FOR AUSTIN IF HE CAN KEEP INJURIES FROM GETTING IN THE WAY TO THE CHECKER FLAG!

Didn’t Forkner come back the last few sx rounds a get a win in 22 think it was at foxborough I remember him an Jett battling
I'm cool with anyone younger than me that likes Nirvana.
Austin's Dad raised him right.
Not a fan of Forkner in the least, but Jett certainly has it coming to him for the season ending cross jump from a year ago. It certainly wasn’t on purpose, but Jett’s mistake cost Austin his SX season.
Didn't realize he was going to 450s for outdoors. Good for him, hope he can have some injury free series' and be another guy scrapping for top 10s or better.
I thought we wanted these guys to speak their mind and not be media robots? It takes all personalities and he isn't forcing his beliefs on you, but isn't scared to share them. I would say that's a good thing. I agree he comes as arrogant, but I think we need different personalities and everyone to be themselves.
I don't think he's ever going to get it done. Something always derails the train for him.
I hope he proves me wrong, however; that guy has been through a lot, and it would be a feel-good story to see him finally get a championship.
