Todd Harris brings some nostalgia to me. Leigh just brings the accent. Hopefully this works out for the better.

In Leigh's trial run last year the thing I liked was that he called the race without going off into the ditch and trying to share some unrelated story about a rider's personal life, etc. The mains are only 20 minutes long and I don't want to to hear that fluff while they are on track racing. I don't know about the new format but in the past they had a 3 hour broadcast with plenty of opportunity to share that stuff.

The qualifiers is the race day live. Thats what theyre calling it for like 2 years. Its not practice its qualifying

I didn't mind Ralph....sometimes he could be a little annoying. I think Diffey is a good fit.

Wish they'd replace Will C....she is horrible.... I miss Jenny Taft.

Lee and Todd will alternate and Ricky will be in the booth with them. Daniel will be on the floor while Ole Willy will be the podium lady as usual.

If Ralph would have toned down his “educated opinion” on the sport during racing he would have been great. Ricky should be giving the insight not Ralph.

Doesn't make much difference to me... Most of the time the announcers are less aware of what's actually going on during the race than my wife is.

I'm just glad we're going racing. Bring on that 1st gate drop!!!

Have DM'd Leigh Diffey with a special throwback request that, during H1, a salute to Ralph be made by sliding in the "by the way Todd, thats not a red Honda, that's a red Gas Gas, with Bam Bam on board".

Leigh Diffey is not only a motorsport enthusiast, he actually has a dirt bike racing background. How many other commentators offer that?

He raced as a young fella and had his first go at commentating at local races at Tivoli Raceway. Aussies will know Tivoli as the Queensland home of motocross and flat track.

Happily this is not just a case of a network bringing in a professional commentator with no connection to the sport. Leigh knows grass roots moto.

Ralph is a tremendous advocate for SX and motorsports in general, and by all accounts a good dude. I don't share the same negative emotions as many of you do on here. I thought Ricky and Ralph were quite good last year and I wish Ralph all the best.

He didn't give me the heartburn that a lot of people on this site seem to get, but you have to admit, him going on about some personal aspect of a racer while there's a visible battle going on was kinda head scratching.

As for the new lineup, I hope they do plan on having Diffey and Harris alternate, because having three people in the booth could get awkward.

I have have no doubt Ralph is a great guy off camera but he’s been bad in recent years. Watched a couple of races back when it was on speed he wasn’t bad. For some reason the past few years he’s been obnoxious. Maybe it was the networks fault making him do it. Either way it was time for a change.
