It will interesting to see the difference between the new announcers and Ralph to see how much is pushed by producers and how much is just their own style. Ralph as a person is a great guy but I ended up eye rolling at a lot of his commentary but I assumed it was more on the production side pushing the “dumb it down” angle.

They don’t dumb it down during the nationals, they don’t gotta do it in SX. Everybody has their own style, hopefully this is a step forward and also hope Ralph continues his success in other avenues.

Not a perfect commentator but he loved and had passion for the sport. Sad to see him go. May the fans be kinder in your next adventure Ralph.

You really think it's going to take as many as 5 races? You're an optimist.

I'm probably in the minority, but I wouldn't mind hearing a Whiskey Throttle Show with him. The stories he told when he made an appearance on Emig's live episode were pretty good. Plus, he does seem like a genuinely good guy.

I am torn. On one hand, as others have said, he is a class act. On the other, his very voice evokes a sort of "WWE on Wheels" or "Monster Truck Madness" vibe. With Ralph in the booth, SX just comes across as more of a "show" than a legitimate motorsports event.

You do realise that most people can't tell the difference between aus and nz accents right 😂. I have kiwi and oz mates and I can hardly tell the difference, only select words.

The more you loved Supercross and stayed up to date on everything, the more you hated Ralph. He sucked and tripped over his words too much, not one bit sad to see him go. He always felt like a poser that didn't really like the sport.

I totally agree with your statement!! and I would also like to add that I am glad there keeping Danial Blair he does a excellent job reporting on the track and technical side of racing, I'm open to this new crew they get some time to settle in, the one thing that over shadows everything is the 450 class is stacked we should see some great racing!!

I'm not claiming to be a Ralph Sheheen fanboy at all...but for a guy who cut his teeth on announcing auto racing, I thought he did a pretty damn good job for all the years he's been in the announcers box. Sure he gets redundant...and has made his share of mistakes, but so has everybody else. I think he gets shit on around Vital way too much, and most of those who do the shitting couldn't do a solid two minutes of what he does without totally imploding.

Best of luck to the guy in the future. He'll land on his feet...and probably has already.

Totally agree. Even your best friend can get on your nerves sometimes Wink I totally believe that Ralph is a huge enthusiast/fan and probably a great guy to bench race with. I had just grown weary of his delivery during the broadcasts.
