But hey, if they finally realized they fucked up, that 5 really was worth what he wanted, well, it wouldn’t be the first time an employer had to face that fact.

I don’t know how many jobs I had to quit for a sizable
raise, only to have them offer me more than to leave.
They might not like it, but sometimes they realize, business is business.

Why people talking about returning outdoors with KTM as they have Cooper and Marvin ready to go? Husky have 3 riders and RMTATV have full lineup. Yes he could be better than some guys but dont see him 101% for racing anymore.
To be KTM marketing dummy.. not going to happen and or replacing Roger in near future neither.

In my opinion, it would say that he lied about the reason he was stepping down from Geico...that it simply required more time than he had initially been led to believe it would. If he said that, then stepped into an important role at say KTM or GasGas...one that would certainly mean the same or more time away from home and his family...wouldn't you question what he said regarding him leaving Geico?

I didn’t downvote you but I disagree. I don’t think you can call him a liar because what would have lied about? He hasn’t given a reason why he stepped away other than he couldn’t commit to what the team needed him to. Thats very vague and open ended. None of us know what that commitment is so that’s why there’s so much speculation about this entire story.

It would be a lie if he’s saying he chose to leave but was actually forced or bought out, for example.

I see your point, and I agree to a degree. You're right in that it was a very vague and open ended statement by Dungey, one that could fuel speculation for sure. Frankly, I don't know why he didn't just come on out and be clear if he was going to say anything at all. I'm quite certain that somebody "loaded his lips" and suggested what to say so as not to step on any toes. I hate political correctness.

And, for the record...and to disagree with what you said, I never called Ryan a liar. I said he would be open to be called that if he showed up tomorrow on another team...right after he left Geico.

Listen it’s all speculation at this point. That’s what makes it fun and makes it a message board. It’s not a news site.

We are shooting the shit and having a little fun trying to figure out what really happened and we may never know.

Either way I don’t wish anyone harm and hopefully everybody is happy and dungey and his family had to make this important decision together. That’s life.
