You mean acting like kids?? Now I really know what a vitard is..
As for the video, hard to watch but at least a lot of honesty from him. IMO when latest injuries are healed he should back and watch it and pick out the problems he himself identified - arm, what can he do to get it back working at or close to 100%, contacts I have no idea about but there has got to be somebody that could help. Then he could make a decision about getting back on bike. At least Rhyno will tell him straight if asked
Some people might call them "words to live by".
Hoping and praying for better - no one needs to be lost for eternity.
That was tough to watch. Get well soon Austin.
Admittedly, I used to be down on Austin from things he'd done/said in the past. Never been a fan. The last couple of years had me routing for him to do well after all the crap he's been through. It's been one hard knock after another.
That was hard to watch. I don't usually watch riders social media posts. I hate that we've become a society that feels the need to know all these private details about somebody's life....or that we are compelled to share too much. Clearly, he needed to get those words out....but to me, that is very private stuff and probably should have been shared with inner-circle loved ones. Yup....that's my old school generation thought...
One thing for sure, he is blessed to be walking after that.
Prayers for Austin to heal and make a decision on how to move forward that is best for him and his family.

i remember when my life and future revolved around moto....and the day i called it quits was hard to do. watchin this brought back a lot of memories of how hard it was to throw in the towel. i feel for him
Well, I'm glad he shared. People (fans) love genuineness and updates.
He didn't throw in the towel...
I'd like to trying riding again, but I have my doubts. I had to have a radical neck dissection due to cancer (do yourself a favor and don't google it), which involves severing the nerve to the trapezius. They had to remove so much material that they moved my left pectoral muscle up there to take up space. As a result I have limited strength and mobility in that shoulder and arm.
Hearing Forkner recount that with his weak arm, his hand blew off the bars when he landed short has really made me reconsider whether it's a good idea to even trail ride.
I just figured out wht u mean
🤦🏾♂️ I would’ve seen this if I scrolled down more , as a guy tht did and said some shit to other ppl & then had the same misfortune thrown my way , this why I don’t do shit like this when I got older & wiser
I’ve always been pretty neutral on Austin, but after seeing how much he has changed up his riding style combined with his introspection and humanity in his post… Let’s just say I really hope that he comes back if that’s what he wants, because I sure as hell will be pulling hard for him now.
Not sure if this has been asked or if this exists but,
Does Oakley not have prescription mx goggle lenses?
If not then why the f not?
They already have sunglasses and regular glasses with prescriptions in them.
Surely they can make mx lenses with them.
A couple years ago there was an interview with Bobby Raegan where he said the one rider that he always wanted to sign, but could never make it work out, was Forkner.
If that offer still stands they need to make it happen, over the past couple years we’ve seen a lot of green bikes go cartwheeling through the air.
I do not like Forkner period but man.
Never ever would wish a crash or injury on another rider, while the outcome seems to have been ok the crash itself was absolutely brutal, i seriously tought he could have been paralyzed, on a coma due to brain swelling, or who knows, like said it was absolutely brutal.
I dont like the Jett post Forkner made on Anderson´s account, it´s weak and stupid to bash a guy to come back crying worried because he caused an accident, on top of that on another dude´s post and 3 freaking years later, but even so, i would absolutely understand why is Forkner crying and there´s no way i could bring banter and shit now, we´ve talked plenty about Deegan´s lack of self awareness and compassion so let´s just hope the very best for him and his family.
I liked the video aswell, it´s raw, real and it expresses many absolutely human concerns about himself, his future and his health as well as gives us an interesting insight on what happened, how it happened and most important, knowing he is lucky to be ok.
Ride on Austin!
Bad take.
Crashers are crashers, it ain't the bike 99% of the time. PC for whatever reason just seems to be employing some crashers as of late.
Example: Jordon Smith has crashed on every single team he's been on, including his current one....Star.
Appreciate him being real and posting that. You're allowed to have empathy for people without being their biggest fan. Some of you should try it.
I also don't know how anyone watches that and accepts any excuse given for having exposed concrete along the track. And thank God for helmet technology.
From 10:27 if you dont bother listening to the guru’s (DV) whole videoblog… ⬇️

So, was the contact off in the practice also? ⬆️
Absolutely no hating but there has been a LOT of AF crashes during the years

I wish Austin all the best in the nats, maybe on a 450?
Just watched the video, yes he is grateful that it was not worse. It's a big crossroads for brother Austin, God always has more important missions.,,follow me and I will make you fishers of men.
Pit Row
Any person who says anything bad about Austin situation has no hart or soul. If we help and lift each other from the bad times world would be much better place.God bless Austin and All people here !!!
I feel for the young man and I pray for the best. I hope he returns to racing as I genuinely enjoy watching him ride.
I feel for him have for a while the luck has been unreal, it kinda is like God is telling him something.
The worst part is those 2 races were the most controlled and mature rides of his career, the crash came at the worst time because he'd be two minds with the "what if" factor.
As a selfish fan I'd love to see him try again, but absolutely understandable if he hangs it up.
It's a bit ironic because Ryno said similar things about his freak crashes too.
Respecr.
Whether it be by racing still or not, thank you Austin for showing me for years what I, or most, can never do on a dirt bike. I, most of us, hope you find peace in your life with or without racing. Thank you for everything!
Austin, I hope you read this. You’ve been an inspiration ever since you beat Herlings as a 17 year old. You have a gift. You have experienced more adversity than most Pro riders. Even if you decide to retire from racing, I hope you still remain involved with the sport.
God bless you.
There are some ROUGH comments on that post by Deegan fans. Horrible stuff.
Praying definitely works. Praying for him to have a complete and successful recovery, and for him to have wisdom and discernment on future plans. 👍
Hope things go well from here on out for Austin.
WTH goes through a person's head to make them write some of the crap they do under the circumstances? That's the type of crap that is bad for the sport.
schadenfreude... maybe that ought to be your new user name.
You're giving the rest of us atheists a bad name. Please stop.
