They're using 7075-T6 on these, which is great for strength, but not so hot for stress corrosion cracking or mitigating crack propagation. Those aren't huge concerns, so long as: A. They don't machine in large stress risers, like the sharp internal corners exactly where this broke, and B. its kind of a false dichotomy tho. there's paying to watch it and then there's paying 2.5x the cost of AppleTV (which now includes F1 btw..which used to be ~$90 a YEAR for f1 f2 f3) for a service with a known track record of piss poor production quality and borderline fraudulent business practices. he literally could have picked anybody besides flo and caught 20% of the flak hes catching now, but he probably picked them because of the lucrative (on paper) royalty structure.
