I think your last sentence explains why fans have been so divided on this topic. Some (including myself) don’t care about who was “correct”, we saw Prado’s piss poor attitude last year and criticized him as such because it was nothing but unprofessional. While others seem to think him getting back to top form and showing that the bike didn’t work for him justifies his attitude last year. Riding a “worse” engine is one thing but taking a team to a national just to tank and try not to qualify is wild. Say what you want. RC never did it, RV never did it, Dungey never did it, Reed never did it, Stew literally died trying on a terrible JGR bike. To lay down and not qualify is just bananas. Either way props to Prado. He was shredding, next year should be a doozy.

For me, for individual titles, it's something like: S tier - 450 Supercross, MXGP, 450 Pro Motocross all pretty much on the same level A tier - 250 pro Motocross, MX2 B tier - 250 regional supercross C tier - SMX at the top, then things like WSX (would be a bit higher if they had more rounds and better riders doing the full series), big established national championships like Canadian nationals, Dutch masters, or any of the other national championships in Europe where lots of the top dogs compete D tier - one off races like Paris, monster cup...

I called him a crybaby in 2025, because he was being a crybaby. I also think it’s great that he’s giving it his best efforts this year. I’m definitely happy for him and was rooting for him tonight.

I feel it's about on par with a 250E or 250W Supercross title. Important, but not a true, full-fledged National Championship. It's more important in some ways, but less important in others. For the 250 guys, it's a better way to settle the score than E/W shootouts. For the 450s, it's maybe not that big a deal.
