APLMAN99 Started a new thread Not a Deegan bashing or praising thread, but I'm surprised......
3 hours ago I'm actually really surprised that we have gotten 14 motos into the National season and he hasn't won a moto. I certainly didn't think that he'd have a season like Jett's rookie outdoors season, but I expected him to either run within a few seconds of the lead or crash his brains out trying to. I think he's actually playing...

3 hours ago Agreed for the most part. Sure, he gets little details wrong now and then (or sometimes often!) but the bikes themselves are worth watching and his doofiness has at least a little entertainment value. He's not someone I'd probably like to have to spend a 5 hour flight sitting next to, but for the bike videos he's harmless.

3 hours ago You can insist this is about 'historical accuracy' all you want, but your selective outrage gives your game away. Decades of historically questionable casting? Silence. One Black actress? Multiple memes, multiple posts, and an entire thread. That isn't a defense of historical accuracy. It's outrage driven by racial prejudice.

9 hours ago Would anyone really expect players who are competing for 7 figure paydays to stretch the rules to their absolute limit? How could that happen? 😉

11 hours ago Chance, how about just talking about the topic instead of making the thread something that you don’t really want to click on in public or at work?

13 hours ago You didn’t answer the question because you can’t. You say you’re exposing ‘absurdity’, but every joke you make somehow circles back to race. That’s a pretty revealing pattern. Maybe spend less time worrying about the pigmentation of fictional Greeks and more time asking yourself why race occupies so much of your mental bandwidth.

13 hours ago This obviously bothers you a lot. What ‘color’ should Helen of Troy (not even a real person) be?

21 hours ago That didn’t say anything about skin color.

1 day ago So basically they have the same aspirations as our country does?
It’s not just tax exemptions, it’s waivers of existing zoning and planning regulations, ‘temporary’ environmental impact exemptions, or any number of creative ‘incentives’ that can be implemented. That’s not limited to data centers, it’s the standard for nearly any new major project or relocation. Back in my hometown, a large apartment building corporation wanted to build a pretty large project...
Yeah, but that’s what local and state governments do. They try to compete for the businesses to locate within their jurisdiction because they believe that the jobs created will outweigh the tax exemptions during the initial stages of the project. Most of the time those tax exemptions sunset, but if the property taxes are significant enough the company can just...

1 day ago Do you have reliable sources for those claims?
The local data centers in NCW have produced more permanent jobs than originally expected, but obviously not quite the same as a factory using the same amount of energy historically does. The tough part about data centers in general and AI computing centers specifically is that they are pretty much a necessary evil at this point. If we were do...

1 day ago I feel for ya, Boom. I resigned myself at an early age to loss. My closest cousin (and I have 50+ cousins) was about 10 months younger than me. He died a week after he turned 21 due to a heart defect that wasn't ever known about and at that time was probably only diagnosed in an autopsy. He was...
"Number 226" isn't necessarily just another data center. That's like saying the 226th factory can't matter because there were already 225 factories. The discussion isn't about counting buildings, it's about the resources each one consumes. What matters is what the data center is doing. AI compute centers consume dramatically more electricity than traditional storage-focused facilities, and they place much greater...

1 day ago I think you are missing a comma and 3 zeroes. Also, the actual source of the 'reconstruction' money wasn't solidly identified. The wording basically said 'the plan will be made later'. "The United States, with regional partners, would develop a plan of at least $300 billion for Iran's reconstruction and economic development, with the financing mechanism to be negotiated later."
APLMAN99 Started a new thread Last night's Presidential address
1 day ago After watching President Trump's address last night, I kept coming back to the same question. Was the purpose of his speech on election integrity simply to advocate for election reform, or was it also laying the political groundwork for questioning, or eventually trying to justify federal intervention in, future elections? It gave me the feeling that the heat is being...

7/16/2026 3:27pm I actually had to take my son's XR80 kickstand off at the line of a local race that had an 'unclassified' class. He was racing his 65 but when we heard about the unclassified class he wanted to run his XR also. Didn't even think about the kickstand until one of the starters pointed it out. Didn't take long!
