Man, I'm sorry to hear that, brother.

Hang in there, buddy, and show them how it's done.

I'm sorry to hear this. It really sucks, and I know  there's nothing that could really help at this moment. Maybe some of what I've written could be a help at some point . It really sucks to hear of Your losses , You seem like a really good person.

I've felt like this recently.  After my Mom passed, and her Dog ,  a friend of a friend passed, then I got a phone call about making some memorial stuff for another friend. I hadn't heard that he passed. Turns out he had broken down on the highway and was hit while walking away from his vehicle. Hit by multiple vehicles that left the scene. That was a couple weeks ago and they still haven't found who hit thim.

Last year I lost a couple other less close friends. People I rode with who drifted away.  Its felt like everybody is dyeing around me.  Just the other day a customer came in and told me his Dad had 3 heart attacks while he was driving himself to the hospital!! He had heart surgery and is recovering. Then I got a call from a customer who was also friends with the hit and run victim and he was in the hospital with heart problems. He was calling to let me know he was going to miss the funeral and thanked me for the work I did.

I saw it happen with my Dad as he got older. But it feels so strange to have it happen , watching friends pass on and thinking about my own mortality.

In times like this I try and stop myself from focusing on all the death and things that are gone. And focus on what I still have. Like family, my property, some really great customers , etc.  And I start to realize there's still a lot more that I still have. I know its hard, and it's the last thing I would want somebody to try and tell me when I'm feeling hurt about the losses. But it is how I've been able to pull myself together mentally after some really shitty times myself.

I hope that Your family is doing well and that You have some positives You can focus on Yourself. I remember You saying that You were working on moving to the US. Perhaps the move will help you reconnect with people You know that could turn into being great friends.

So sorry to hear this, Boom. It’s hard to lose a friend. Keep your head up. There is still an old fat bald guy in Missouri praying for you!

My mom had a massive stroke and passed away 6 days later , a little over 3 and a half years ago. My dad is 89. My mother and father in-law are both 90. My father in law is 7 years into dementia. I have 3 grandchildren ,2 that are under a year and a half old and my daughter is having a little girl this September. My wife is 71 and I’ll be 66 in September . We probably won’t be around for their graduations. And if we are , we’ll be a couple raisin’s. Get’n old isn’t for pussies. All this said ….enjoy the time you have and make sure all the important people in your life know that you love them to the moon and back again. Hang in there fellas.👊🏻❤️

It's part of getting older, but that don't make it easy. I got word about a year ago that my closest moto friend of all time died suddenly in his mid-50s. It was shocking. Nothing puts your own mortality into focus more than someone close to you dying. We knew each other since third grade and had years and years of moto adventures together.

I used to see my Mom lamenting her favorite actors getting older and my parents lamenting their friends getting older. I didn't quite understand why the natural process of aging upset them. I was like "what did you expect?" But now I get it. We honestly need to find ways to treasure whatever time we have left here.

Its just damn crazy. Just last Sunday Derek cycled 40 + - clicks in the hills on his mobile. Non smoker and was a social drinker. The dude looked after himself and a heart attack was the last thing I'd expect to take him down.

Thats 6 heart attacks in the last 5 years ( good friends)

Its hard to process this and man, he leaves a beautiful family behind.

Thanks for all the replies guys, sure helps one navigate through this.

My condolences for your loss, I feel for you. There is a poem I often read again whenever someone passes, whether it is someone I knew or not. I have seen different translations of it, like there's two at the link, but I like the first at the link. Even when someone I don't like passes, I try to remember that a whole world is gone with them and that demands a moment of respect and regret. "People" by Yevgeny Yevtushenko

That's rough, sorry man. It was the same thing with my friend. Just had a heart attack in the middle of the night when he had the flu.

I feel for ya, Boom.  I resigned myself at an early age to loss.  My closest cousin (and I have 50+ cousins) was about 10 months younger than me.  He died a week after he turned 21 due to a heart defect that wasn't ever known about and at that time was probably only diagnosed in an autopsy.  He was an incredible athlete, but after an indoor soccer game he just keeled over and died.  That was tough.  Another best fried died at 27, with his only child less than 18 months old.  He fought leukemia for a couple of years but by the time his doctor recommended a bone marrow transplant his body was too weak to survive the procedure.  I was fortunate to have other friends and family to help me through the grief, I know it must feel impossible without that support system in place.
