If the championship was fixed in regards to Jetts riding/results, my question is, do you think Hunter was in on it? Was this something Jett and the family discussed behind closed doors or was this completely orchestrated in Jetts mind? If this was a fixed chip, there's no way Hunter knew about it. And if he knew it was going down that way, I wonder what he thought during/after the first moto? I wonder what he thinks now. So scandalous lol

No way. If it was fixed it was Jett acting on his own. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t type of thing. That family...

No way. If it was fixed it was Jett acting on his own. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t type of thing. That family is in some really deep shit now with the fan base and media. What I’m wondering is does it blow over or does it follow them forever or worse does it crush them?

Yeah, IF it happened, it would have just been Jett.  No way the team or the family would have known.

And it blows over quick…

Yeah I agree, when Jett is crowned SMX champ here in like a month or so it will be all spotlight on the golden boy again.

I'm at peace with it now. There was no colluding with Hunter you coud see post 1st moto he was as dumbfounded as anyone. There was no monetary gain infact they lost money as Jetts bonuses are bigger.  Worst case scenario Jett did it through brotherly love.

I don’t believe for a second, that Jett would let Deegan pass him for any reason. If he could have fended off he would’ve.

pretty sure Prado just went 1-1 for overall win at Ironman. Prado Had a fair number of holeshots this year and qualified well nearly every race. Don't remember Deegan leading a single lap this year or winning an overall? Deegan qualified near the top as well and I think had more podiums than Prado but the moto wins and overall gives him the edge over your guy Deegan for anyone beating the other straight up. Scoreboard.

You would be wrong on that. Lol. Actually, the only way Jett would accept Deegan beating him like that would be if Jett 'let him' do it. And he did.

certain riders have championship bonus escalators in their contracts too, especially when it’s already previously signed and when you win a championship the next year goes up quite a bit. who knows. We’ll never know

This is delusional. Pro moto keeps a score board and deegs beat prado fair and square. Makes no difference if the Lawrence’s were there or not. Deegan amassed more points over the 11 round series than prado did. Therefore he finished ahead. It ain’t rocket surgery.

Anyone who does not see exactly what Jett did is blind or just refusing to except reality. You’re telling me Jett could not pass anyone, mid pack riders he normally passes by the dozen for 3 laps? Just look at who he “couldn’t” pass and his lap times through the entire race. Give me a dam break. He was waiting to see where Hunter was. It was planned from the go when he tanked the start. He dropped anchor immediately when he saw Hunter went down not knowing how bad it was. I have no feelings either way but I understand his especially after Hunters supercross heartbreak. Its highly unlikely Hunter would have ever got a title with a healthy Jett. He barely got one against an injured Jett.

For the X Files people: when did this "conspiracy" for Jett to take a dive get cooked up?

In advance, because everyone within the family agreed it was Hunter's turn?  Was Honda in on it, and if not should they be pissed for $$ reasons?  Did Jett come up with it ahead of time and just keep it to himself?  Or did it occur to Jett in the spur of the moment when he saw Hunter was down and suddenly Jett was overcome because Hunter was jinxed by another fall at a critical moment?  I mean, there's got to be some coherence for something to be a plan or, God forbid, a conspiracy.

All presupposing Jett doesn't care about his own title legacy and would just go F it when he's a point down going into the last round, when atbthis stage of his career he's already lost multiple title seasons to injuries and is hobbled with something now that's more likely to impair him in the future than the past ACL stuff.  All presupposing that Hunter so lacks pride he would want it that way, as if anyone who's seen Hunter handle his business can imagine that's the case.

That's a lot of BS to package against Jett got reinjured and couldn't deliver.  What a load of crap.  Guys who succeed as these two, and others champions have, don't think that way.

Not to mention Johnny O.. I don't know him but he seems like the sorta dude that would find that sort of situation unacceptable and stop working with them..

People can call me naive all they want but I wanna live in a world where I don't believe Jett Lawrence can just flat out lie about something like that..

I do wonder if people would be so upset if Jett wasn't the other rider in contention but did go out of his way to help Hunter win the championship..

Like someone said above for me the worst case scenario is Jett was prepared to throw money and a title away for his big brother.. (Which I can't really believe going off their history)

typical expected Deegan ball gargler deflecting response. He doesn't lead a single lap all year or win a moto or a main- but hey! He finished with more season points than another guy who DID win a main, motos, and lead race laps ahead of Deegan. Brilliant!

3rd in the championship likely paid more than 1 overall and fourth, fwiw. But, one things for sure:Deegan wanted to win at least 1 big time. And is likely pissed Prado got there first. However, being 2 time world champ, id say Prado underperformed more than Deegan did. If Deegan wins 2 mains of any type next year then its definite imho. And, Haiden may win more than one smx round which is id say equal to an outdoor win and below a sx main win at this point.  And Haiden may very well be one of the last guys standing in Sx next year. He certainly seems to crash and be OK like Rc used to.

You also have to premise your doubt on accepting that Hunter would want a title gifted to him.

Here's an alternative: a guy who missed all of SX and has been impaired throughout this season got a bad start and has said he tweaked that injury and could not press hard mid pack on a sketchy rutted track.  He got a better start second moto and still could not push hard, at which point it may not have mattered given the positions available and the points he was down.

I'll grant you this: he wasn't going to knock his brother down second moto to put those points back in his pocket given Pop's emphasis on straight up, and he may have been willing to take greater risks of compounding his injury if it was anyone other than Hunter he was fighting for the title.

The notion that Jett threw this really is an idiot test a lot of people are failing.

i love it when people post emotionally charged arguments while calling other people idiots. not saying you are one, or that you're wrong, but let people make their arguments just like you're making yours without calling them idiots. there's enough funny business for people to make a case that the opposite is at least plausible. we'll never know for sure. just let it ride.  it's like people that get bent out of shape if you tell them you're not convinced that AGW is calculable...

Or those who don't have Facebook:

Michael Lindsay says what he personally saw behind the Honda truck after Moto 1 makes him believe Jett Lawrence was genuinely HURT at Ironman. 👀🦶

Lindsay said he went straight back to the Honda area specifically because he wanted to see what happened once Jett was away from the cameras and the fans.

According to Michael, Jett didn’t even really make it back to the main race truck.

He says Honda drove him as close as possible to their private PT area, Jett could barely get out of the mule, and his girlfriend, family and team were helping him get his gear off.

Then Lindsay says he watched Jett basically crawl out of sight into the private area in tears. 😳

His point was pretty simple:

There was nobody there to put on a show for.

Lindsay also said he had already noticed Jett’s right foot constantly getting blown off the peg, his balance looking wrong, and his body position being noticeably different throughout the opening laps.

So while everyone can have their own opinion about what happened in that championship finale, Michael’s firsthand takeaway was that whatever was going on with Jett’s ankle looked VERY real once the cameras weren’t around. 👀🔥

You aren't very good at analyzing, are you?

Deegs got 16th in first moto. He went to third from last a few weeks ago. Any lights coming on?

Cool, man! Dunge is my favorite rider ever. If RV didn't exist, Dunge would be the GOAT. RV does in fact exist, though. Just like Hunter and Jett. Get ready to copy and paste your comment for the foreseeable future. The next decade is going to be rough on you. Its always going to be IF Jett want there then Deegz woulda blah blah blah

How do you know Jett's bonuses are bigger?

From mgmt perspective seems like since Jett's paid more in salary, they would incentive Hunters' contract with more bonus opportunity.

How'd he get back on track for Moto 2?
