I know Supercross is very different and Deegan was coming through the pack. But if you took His average lap time in the main and assume he would keep that same average in the longer main. Even tho I'm not really a fan of a position penalty myself, a time penalty is probably hard to implement and get right for both MX and SX at the same time. Let's say it would be 10 or 15 seconds instead of one position. Often in MX that could result in no real loss at all, because the gaps could eventually be bigger. In SX 10 or 15 seconds could actually result in multiple positions instead. I think the whole point is to have it somewhat consistent to let the riders know they fucked up. Yeah I know.. AMA...

To think of how long Jett has had off the bike. He’s still managing the injury, only really riding the weekends. It’s pretty incredible to think of the pace and level he is riding at. The gap they had over the others in moto 1 (+ every race this year) is just incredible. They are on a complete other level. Hunter is really exploiting Jett’s weakness. Such an enjoyable series to watch. The downside is the depth in the class. Gosh, all the big name guys are so far off minus Haiden. Really need some new life in the class.

Hunter has upped his game and is riding super fast, but if jett werent injured it wouldnt be anything he cant handle. This is it. Hunter has stepped up his game. Conversely, Jett is trying to do full fit Jett things and he can't right now, leading to mistakes. No one is in his head but himself, purely because he's unable to ride like he knows he can. It should be a scary thought for anyone not named Lawrence on a Honda that he's riding at 70% and still the best rider out there.

I agree with Whiskey that while I wasn't a fan of Hunters, his SX season was unreal. From never winning a 450 SX race, to winning all the time and being in the title fight into the last round, had me watching him more. I rooted for Kenny, but Hunter is humble to a fault. Here’s my theory, for what it’s worth. I think Jett can still do Jett things, but he struggles to consistently go as fast as he wants to go due to his ankle changing how he has to ride. Meanwhile Hunter has grown into his potential and is a true threat to win every time he’s on the gate. I just don't see how he would fit in at HRC. He might get along well with the brothers but I can't see HRC having 3 450 race/championship contenders on one team. In two years he will be the number one 450 rider at Star and will run circles around 38, so he can make that team his own.

Doesn’t Davies only get one more year on 250s? He gets to defend his SX title, then he’s on 450s for 2028 SX, right? Unless Jett retires early, there’s no way Honda could justify shelling out the cash for the hottest prospect in the sport that everyone will be fighting over.

I doubt star Yamaha would want him to get away. There's definitely a spot for him in the open class. And when he's dialed in, and winning, like yesterday he definitely has a lighter style on the bike. Which seems to be what the 450's require. I think his transition up will be a relatively easy one.
