It was only like $75 to go to Thunder Valley and it was worth every penny. It was an awesome day and honestly 10 times better than the Denver supercross has ever been. It’s on the promoter to police the ez up nonsense. Selling a product ( the race ) with the knowledge a lot of your customers are going to have decidedly limited viewing possibilities due to the selfish actions of others is somewhat disingenuous. It’s not like they don’t know it’s going to happen. Those things shouldn’t be allowed.

$587 for a family of 5 with pit passes and better VIP parking at Millville this year. My kids get to cruise the pits to grab random goodies and probably talk with the PC guys and others. All day event playing in the creek, super deals at the FXR booth, and other activities on par with a summer carnival/festival plus the best racers in the world ripping Mt. Martin. The EZ-Ups were kind of out of control today. Literally every inch of the fence was occupied by an EZ-Up where I was, leaving the rest of us scrubs having to crouch and look under them to see the freaking action. Photos and video? Good luck. That said, for the second 450 moto someone offered me their spot under their EZ-UP and having shade next to the track was pretty cool. But they need to leave some areas for open spectating.

Entitlement culture. People who have money are the worst. Selfish, rude, everything revolves around them.

Is it what they want? Or is it the best option they have, knowing that if they spend less this year, they'll have to walk around the track for 3 hours to see a few sections at a time because the spot they were in last year is now a "preferred viewing" ticket? My local national is Southwick, 40 mins from my house. I've been going there since the late 90s. I haven't been to Budds in over 20 years, but back then there were no EZ-UPs.. but people were "claiming" and holding spots along the fence with their lawn chairs. Sad to hear the EZ Up disease spread.

I'm guessing the vital MXGP podcast will contain a scathing review of the track. Personally I loved it. I wouldn't want to see more than 1 or 2 of these on the schedule but it definitely expands the track variety. Something sadly missing in the US.

I thought the track was good. Made the riders think. Maybe that's why a lot of them didn't like it. Seems like there was a manufacturer's meeting about the track pre-race but the FIM nor Infront weren't interested...

You forgot to mention that it also includes high-fiving Eli Tomac.

It was noticable at High Point that there were banks full of people and very few EZ-UPs on the fences, but the were all moved back higher up the hills. That is way better, you want shade, no problem, but that shouldnt block anyone elses view, your ticket entitles you to the ground under you feet , not a 3mx3m square in everyones eyeline.

I get the appeal of a VIP section, you get space, shade, drinks, a seat, and the promoter gets more dollars. That said, I cannot imagine going to a national and sitting my ass under a tent all day. If I'm at a national I'm going to watch part of the race from every vantage point I can find. I want to see how these guys are tackling every section of the track. I'm there to see the riders, their technique, and their manipulation of the bike in small ways you will never see on tv. You can't do that...
