12+1.  HAHAHA what a joke.

I’m quite tired of the people who are in charge of shit, everywhere.

Wait, they only do 12 min + a lap? That is way too short, WMX in the GPs does 20 min + 2 laps.

Saw her at a practice track once and can tell you that Courtney Duncan is FAST.

As for endurance, 12 min motos are an insult to the girls. Go watch world Enduro GP and see how insanely fast those girls are, over 2 whole days.

Total respect.

Lotte Van Drunen raced some Mx2 GPs last and this year. She is usually around 8-12 seconds (depends on the track ofc) a lap slower than the absolute best 250 riders in the class, which is fucking insane considering the obvious physical disadvantages. And she never placed last, there is always a couple dudes behind her. Let alone doing the full 30+2 twice a day as a girl and being this fast.. And she's only 18 aswell.

She's currently not healthy/riding injured but her vs the girls in the US would be fun to watch. The new generation is indeed crazy.
Lotte

She rides often at my local track and she’s fast as hell

Just looked up the results and she beat Natzke and Harwood, that's actually pretty crazy. Don't know how old they were then but those guys are still some of NZ's current top riders

The top two lap times in practice were about 50th in the 250 practice. It dropped off about 3 seconds a lap after those two.

In the first motos they were about 2 seconds off of 40th.

These ladies are definitely faster than they were back in the Ashley Fiolec days. It was entertaining to watch them.

Noticed Vickie Golden hasn’t been mentioned much but she still rips, not sure where she would stack up against today’s bunch but she can still fly.

I saw a video of Vicky Golden launching. Amazing. Here she is ripping with Carson Brown. She is very impressive to watch.

Lots of interesting lap time data from LL 2025.   Lachlan Turner's (winner of the Women's class) lap times were a bit slower than 250B.  For example, she was, on average, 5+ seconds off pace to the second place 250B rider, Deacon Denno.  Of course, we all know that 250B is the fastest class at LL, but she was pretty far off pace relative to Open Pro Sport as well.  She would have easily won the 50+ class, though.

Tons of interesting data here: 2025 Loretta Lynns Lap Times

Can your top local amateur A class riders in most states beat them? I raced Lisa Akin in 125 B class many years ago on her home track (Red Bud) and beat her easily. Not bragging just bringing perspective. I'm curious if anyone knows.

Back in the day Jessica Patterson lined up and raced 450B in the guys class and won. Not sure how she'd do in A but she was very very fast

I'm sure the pro girls are quite a bit slower than the pro guys are, but those girls are still pretty damn fast.  Comparing lap times can be misleading due to changing track conditions between the respective races, etc.  Regardless, their race was highly entertaining and just the fact that they were launching the big jumps, especially that big triple tells me everything I need to know.  My wife commented on how cute the girls were in their interviews, and that certainly helps the viewership.  I like having their race during the break as it makes the track a little rougher (better for good racing) and it gives the guys more time to recover which can also make for better racing.

There are 3 from the Hangtown WMX roster that we raced locally over the last few years. They were comparable to my son who was a top 3 125/250C, mid-pack B rider. He'd usually beat them but not always, and they were getting faster. The top of the WMX class now would wax him for sure - they are moving! That moto 2 was great to watch yesterday, and the interview with the 3rd place rider might have been the best I've ever seen - the joyous wonder in her face after that experience was priceless!!

There are a handful of sports where women can go toe to toe with the dudes. Ultra endurance running, cycling, some rock climbing disciplines. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones i'm familiar with.

The west coast off road women rip. They are consistently in the mix with the top end A guys and slower "pro" dudes. I have to guess they are slower than the chicks racing WMX. If you have a day job and race dirt bikes for fun, there is a good chance the pro women are faster than you. And a lot of them have day jobs, too.

Would definitely be cool to see Turner enter a couple of 250 rounds just to see how she stacks up.

van Drunen has done it in MX2 a few times but the MX2 class is Europe is nowhere near a full gate most of the time so it's hard to compare, and I have no idea how she would stack up against the top WMX riders in the States (I would guess she'd be fighting for wins and podiums but don't know for certain)

One thing's for sure: They'd wax most of us, and most local A riders in the majority of towns and states

Lotte is really, really fast, but her MX2 GP races are a tough indicator because as you allready say that class has no full gates.

Every now and then Lotte races Dutch races vs. males. Based on who she is fighting in these races i would estimate that she could qualify in emx250 but miss out on most occassions.

Not very fair to compare her to the Lawrence's lap times, who also made everyone else look silly. Charli and LaLa had better/comparable lap times with the guys who finished 30/31 in 250 moto 2, who also had 2:07s as their fast laps. I think I saw a couple 2:06 and 2:05s, then there were a lot of people who's best times were 2:03.

Lap times aside they had some sketchy moments and stayed on it just like everybody else out there. Much respect for their speed, talent and dedication.

The crazy thing is, with as fast as Jett was rolling yesterday, Davies was only just over second slower than him in the second moto.

She's is an absolute badass. She could have easily taken a break now after her crash, I bet that hurt A LOT, but she takes anything she can get when it comes to races, Coenens and her going to the US, we fans are eating good this weekend man

i havent looked at lap times from hangtown, but i remember Fiolek in 2010 had laptimes comparable to around 35th-40th.

the top 3-5 now, i would suspect are probably around that marker, and most are gonna be fast (not top) B riders down to local C class speed. ( there was at least 1 or 2 being lapped in the 12min moto...

edit: just checked times, the 'slowest' fast lap recorded in the 250 moto 2 was 2:07.6 by Nate Freehill vs Cannon a 2:07 (Lachlan 2:07.4 respectively) after the top 2 the next fastest lap was 2:12 with the slowest 'fast lap' time being a 2:41

*nate freehill finished 32nd in the 2nd moto but those around him all logged faster 'fast laps' around 2:03. for perspective, its not until Mumford in 11th that the fast lap drops under 2min with a 1:59. so from 12th-40th the majority of fast laps ranged from 2:00 to 2:03

Big props to all the lady racers. My wife is a longtime rider and racer (got her first streetbike at 16) and has worked in the industry most of her career. Troy Lee hired her personally, she worked at KTM/Husqvarna, Thor, Alta, Sena, and how Harley Davidson. So I'm here for it and love seeing more gals out ripping. But don't think for a second there still isn't some serious misogyny going on in the industry still. I've sat in meetings where the topic of women athletes and sponsorship came up and half the room laughed at the notion. Fucking gross.

But it is still very much a numbers game. For every one girl you have on a bike, there are 8-9 times more guys, at least. (Women make up about 19% of the total motorcycle industry, and skew towards streetbikes). Just look around the pits at your local practice day.

Point is, with a smaller pool of potential talent, the ones to rise to the top, and the ones that truly have elite speed (like elite out of everyone, men and women) is very very very small. Just statistics. That's why it is important to shine a light on these competitors, to continue to inspire other women to take up the mantle and get riding.

FWIW in roadracing there has been the argument over the years that 'women just won't be able to race at the true top level' and at best will just maybe qualify for the men's races, but just this year in MotoAmerica we've seen Kayla Yaakov have a breakout season capturing her first poles, podiums, and leading laps in a very tough class against top tier talent. Out qualifying heavyweight guys like Josh Herrin, Josh Hayes, PJ Jacobson, Darryn Binder, and Tyler Scott. She's the real deal, and a win is just around the corner. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/motoamerica-yaakov-on-supersport-p…

Keep riding, keep pushing, and keep cheering on these gals, because all boats rise with the tide.
