So the fact that Prado did do that should tell you everything you need to know. Nobody wants to walk away from that kind of money, but if things are bad enough, money isn’t everything

Prado doesn’t strike me as a guy that comes from a family that lacked finances.

I’m sure he’s not short of money, I doubt he has enough to consider $1.5M a year an insignificant amount of money

You sign a contract, you win on the bike, the money is good. You stay put!

Will ”Prados Kawi mech” get verbally hostile also with Chase when he accidentically slips to Lewis that the Kawi bike is a fkn china-moped in US team race form and the team is to top management controlled..?

Just wondering… no hate… let the 2026 SX season continue… down… i just wish the guy a good bike to fight Jett in MX! SX is done, sorry

Not insignificant but I doubt that $1.5M is life changing for him, if you consider it’s likely he already has quite a few million.

It’s really a question of what is the alternative?  The major factory teams don’t have any spare seats in the near future.

He’s already sitting on 8 figures in the bank, he’d ride for no money to prove he’s one of the world’s elite.

Eh, that's pushing it. I'm sure high seven figures

Yeah I don't understand this either. How can you be so blazing fast, yet every single bike is a piece of shit? Haha like what on earth is Chase looking for, and does it even exist on any bike?

As I always write - I'm No Fanboy nor Hater of Any rider.

So, I'm no 'hugger' of Sexton - and, I do tend to believe he'll "tuck the front" at any moment..... 😬

But F**k me, people writing Sexton off, when he's just got 5th, and, is 5th in the series, with, many more races to come?

What is he - now 18 points behind?

Cooper Web was near a full round behind in points, I think, and has brought it down to 11, fairly rapidly.

I just don't get it - the majority of you think your SX series is the Pre -Eminent series on Earth, with the "World's Best Riders", yet you absolutely slag so many of the riders, and write them off, in a near instant.

It's bloody juvenile.

Lots of races to come, boys and girls. At the end, we'll have a Winner, whomever it may be.

I just Always hope that they all get through, healthy - but, that's highly unlikely, unfortunately.

I'm not writing Sexton alone off. I'm writing the combination of Kawi + Sexton off. So far, seems to be the same bad combo as Prado + Kawi.

He might be ok on pure hard packed, I think he will continue to struggle when tracks are rough because that's always when it shows.

And yes, struggle is podium also for someone like Sexton who is expected to battle for wins every race.

I mean, he was 2sec off Prado in qualifying. He is usually 0.5 faster than all the others.

Arlington is coming up. Historically a good track for Chase. Even if he doesn’t get on the podium, if he doesn’t crash and get hurt that’s enough for me, because he will get better. Better to finish anywhere and continue to build than injure himself. Show a sign of maturity and accepting he can’t win championships if he’s always on the ground.

I think right now, for whatever reason, Chases' confidence is in the crapper. I don't think it's the bike. Because if it is, every bike he's ridden in the past years must have been a pile of crap....and they weren't. If he ever gets that confidence back...watch out, cause he is a very talented rider capable of running with anyone and reeling off wins. I think his problem is 100% mental unfortunately. He doesn't feel capable of winning...which is ridiculous...because he's proven in the past he can win...and win a lot.

When you have front end issues every bike, and are "looking for a feeling" on each one as well, that's on the rider.  To test all off season, then make a jump to kitchen's setting is very telling.  Now it seems that also isn't working.

Dungey at times would get like that , albeit much less and Aldon was notorious for getting him back in line.

It’s not the bike.

Chase is doing great, same as always. He’s the same guy as always, fast as anyone on his best days and head scratching squirrelly on his bad days. He wins races, makes millions. It looks like he’s written his current contract with enough freedom on bike setup to make things either work perfectly or fail due to his own decisions. Nobody to blame but himself if it goes all sideways.

I think he finishes the 3 years, wins at least one title, makes a lot of money and moves on to another team in 2029.

Dude is just one bolt or engine hanger with holes away from wins….maybe even some grease on the threads will help….

His triple clamp bolts just need the right spacers!

Chase has the same crashes no matter the brand. Seems he needs to focus on technique and let someone else set up the bike.

Too early to tell how he'll fare on the Kawasaki, but history shows us he will ride out this contract, be unhappy, and switch to another brand when the ride is up. He will win a lot, but come up short on championships.

The precedent that Prado set is a dangerous one for a guy like Sexton, however. If and when the mood turns sour (like it often does for him,) will he also try to jump ship?
