This starts a good conversation. What does "Major" mean in terms of manufacturers? Are they speaking in terms of units produced, market share, historical significance, or moto relevance? I'd mostly agree with you about the brands you listed, but I'd also include BMW, Harley-Davidson, Polaris and Can-Am. Unlikely those brands would be making an MX bike, but you never know. Also, never underestimate a brand's own feelings of importance or aspirations to grandeur. They say perception is reality! They said a “major” oem, I’m not sure what other people consider a major OEM, but I consider the KTM group (KTM, Husqvarna and Gas Gas), Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, Ducati and Triumph major OEM’s. I guess Beta too, but any other OEM’s I don’t really consider. Like Kove, Sherco etc..
