Crazy how a couple months removed people now think ET would be 3rd guy in line for a title. He easily had Chase covered all season. One bad landing was what ended his title run. Eli is still the best rider in the USA.

Sure be nice to have ET3 back for some more racing. It’s funny how many have the next five seasons mapped out who’s going to win all the races and titles. Just want to see some good battles.

How many times did Chase carry the red plate vs Tomac prior to achilles tear?
Tomac has had plenty of time to reflect. He knows his popularity in the sport and where he sits among his racing peers is a special place. Two months away relaxing in that cool mountain air away from everything is just the environment to consider whether you still have a little more in the basement. I’m guessing he feels he just isn’t ready to retire. He’s too strong, has the love of the fans, and is with a solid program. I believe this rumor to be true.
I'm a tomac superfan so I'm biased but I don't think he was super at home on the new motorcycle this year. He did not have "it" like he did last year. A lot of "tip-toeing" if you will. Now, that can be more than the bike of course. But, I think that if he is talking with the team and they're fixing what he was not gelling with he may come back on a heater.
I kind of agree. To me he never looked as comfortable on the new bike as he did on last years.
I guess Tomac just easily let Chase outrun him until Chase crashed. Seems like a good plan to me. 😂

He may well be, but he’ll be 31 by January and suffered a pretty debilitating injury.
I don’t think it’s far fetched to predict that he won’t be as fast as he has been.
Tomac has said on numerous occasions that he’ll retire when he feels like he can no longer win races or championships.

All the Racer X injury reports throughout SX said Friese had an Achilles injury and that’s why he wasn’t racing. Anyone have an idea when that injury might have occurred? Isn’t he back racing WSX? Could help give a little better idea on timeframe for a possible return to racing. I really hope we get to see Tomac come back.
Tomac's glory days are behind him and he's on a bike he dont care much for. 2 more years could be embarrassing. He should go fly fishing instead.

I'd have to agree with the last sentence. I'm ready for the downvotes.
In 2022 motocross Tomac went on an 8 moto win streak to get back in the mx after being down double digits in the points. It was easy to see the confidence he had going into the last round in a win or go home situation.
The racing would be better with him around no doubt and the series needs guys like this. Having three guys in the series that can legitimately win a championship makes the racing great for even casual fans and hopefully when Hunter steps up he's battling up front also.
Fixing it with him injured and no testing?
From an outdoor title, to a commanding lead in supercross and pretty much having the title wrapped up to now not even considered a contender. People are crazy and must know more than the man himself.

Everyone sweating ‘24 sx if Masterpool ‘gets his shot’ on a factory bike. Chase, Eli, Jett, Coop. Mr Thompson knows a thing or two, he’s won championships.

Boggles my mind people can write off Tomac... Insane.
To be clear, I'm not saying he won't be a contender. But he's not getting younger and other guys are coming. I think if he chooses to race and he gets 5+ SX wins in 2024 then he can possibly get to 60 if he would race again in 2025.
I don't know that we will see him reel off 8-10 wins a year anymore though... but to win the title you don't necessarily need to. See Dungey 2017.
