So sorry to hear this. Chalk me up as another one that never met him, but thru his posts, I came to know he was one of the good people. I can't lie, I was a little jealous of some of the stuff he had, but I know he worked for all of it

Didn't matter what your problem was, Joe would seem to drop everything to see if he could help.

I never met him face to face, but I felt like I knew him just from talking to him.

i'm very sad today. i was checkin in on that thread since it started to keep updated. i been around vital for 11+ years (i know not as long as others) but i enjoyed newmann content and have talked in pm's with him on stuff. super good dude. this kinda hit me like a brick when i read this thread because i was really rootin for him to get better. sad day.

Add me to the list of guys who never met him but felt like they knew him well. A quality person, an original thinker, a fountain of knowledge, a self-made man, and a stand-up guy - you could just TELL.

Such a sad day.

Not sure if anyone was ever more of a core motocross guy in this place than Newmann. Like most here, I didn't personally know the man. But damn, he was a legend!

We lost a great moto brother today. RIP Joe. Many of us will never forget you or your great contributions to this forum.

I knew Joe. A few on here were also good friends. His son called me today because he saw that I kept texting Joe for an update, like I had for the past week and a half. I’m still in a bit of shock.

Joe was real. He was an honest person and a good friend. Please pray for his family. Joe was everything to them.

Sad day. He was core moto and just seemed like one of the great ones. I missed his posts and was hopeful he would get back on here at some point. RIP and hopefully his family can get through this tough time as smoothly as possible.

So sad, I have never met Joe but have had followed his posts and stories for many years. Always seemed like an incredible person who was willing to help anyone.

I met Joe once at the Houston SX in 09 while on holiday from OZ. A friend introduced a mate and I to him in the pits where he had a display of some of his awesome vintage bikes. The White O'Show Mugen, OW125 Yamaha, Steve Wise replica CR125 and a Jeff Ward Mini Elsinore. We were asked to help push the bikes back to his trailer, which we were happy to do. When we got there, his wife made us lunch and Joe gave us beer. (A choice of Shiner Bock and Shiner Black from memory). That's my Joe memory and left an impression. Good guy, good family. Rest in Peace.

I'm sorry, I'm rarely here nowadays, and our family is dealing with some issues right now. But Larry just told me a few minutes ago. I am so sorry to hear, I never met him, but read many of his thoughts here. I am so sorry, godspeed Joe. Hugs and love to his family and friends -

Like many others, I only knew Joe from the forums ( mainly the old school forum). Joe sent me some parts and asked for nothing in return. He was a wealth of knowledge and always willing to share. His collection of motocross bikes was as impressive and unique as Joe himself.. A genuine honorable man.

For the last few days, i've had a nervous pit in my stomach each time I logged on to browse threads and would always have my fingers crossed that the Newmann thread had positive news and not this

He contributed a great amount to this forum over the years. I always enjoyed seeing pictures of his shop, bikes, and projects. Never met him in person, but I feel like I knew the guy.

RIP moto brother. Your legend will live on.

Very sad. I didn’t know Joe but have seen his posts. You feel like you get a sense of what kind of person someone is and the beautiful tributes here confirm my sense that he was a really good guy.

I met Newman at Rio Bravo during the AHRMA race a few years back. He was a good guy. This is hard to read.

Extremely sad news. I never knew the man personally, but he was extremely knowledgeable on the old bikes. He answered a few of my questions in the old school forum. And his collection was incredible.

Fuq! I met Joe at RBSR a couple of years ago. Posted on here “who was going” he showed up and found me. We had beers and conversation as I am only 4 years removed from the South and he had lots of questions about my move out West. Great dude and terrible loss. Godspeed Joe!

I`m still lost for words. Bobby aka JAFO92 was updating me some on his condition. Hard to process it.

Rest In Peace Joe. I also didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him personally, but I always enjoyed the content that he posted on here, and when I saw his user name anywhere, I always read what it said because I knew what he said was worth reading weather I learned something from or made me laugh ect.

I believe he has helped me on one of my build threads years ago. I sincerely feel for his family and friends and feel a bit sad today knowing we lost such a great human being.

Just reading all the posts you can see what a beloved man Newmann (Joe) was to the members of this forum. He had the admiration and respect from almost every member here. You will be missed Joe.

I have always enjoyed reading Newmann's post and admired his knowledge and collection of vintage bike's. He was one of core member's of this forum. Can't believe he's gone. Rest in peace

While I did not know him personally I could relate to his love of vintage bikes being a older rider that raced moto in the 70's myself. After hearing this I feel damn lucky today to be able to be with people I love and still ride dirt bikes.
