7/31/2026 2:11am I did all that same swingarm work on my 95 cr500 a couple of years ago. Didn’t leave one scratch in it and brought it to a mirror finish. Then I thought no it needs to have the factory look so I hit it with a scotch brite pad to give it the right look, then sealed it with a 2 part chemical that dries clear without drips and seals the pores.

7/31/2026 2:11am I didn't want to sand/polish it down that far to get rid of the scratches. I'd have to take 1/16th of an inch off. That would make it pretty weak. Forgot to post pics of the cylinder and head from Millenium. They did some porting in there to blend the sleeve in with each port. I'm very impressed for what I paid. Got the depression valve in there too. They modified the chamber for pump 93 fuel. Wossner piston and ring, wiseco top end bearing, and gasket kit too.

7/31/2026 2:11am Got busy today after work and finished both wheels, built the engine, and installed it into the chassis. Only snag I had was one of the head studs is messed up. So I ordered a new one. Bunch of parts coming this week to hopefully wrap it all up.

7/29/2026 10:25am Put the shock together today. Painted the cylinder and head. Got them back from Millenium and they look excellent! I'll get the engine assembled this week and into the frame. Have to build the wheels too.

7/29/2026 10:24am Started to polish the flat sections of the swingarm. It's a tedious process. I do it all by hand except for the final buff. Start with 400 grit, then 800, 1000 1500, 2000 and then a liquid polish and a final buff with a dry wool pad.

7/29/2026 10:24am The main reason I bought a KTMto begin with. Sure the YZ smoker is a great bike. KTM were always faithful to the 2 stroke riders and prefected fuel injection for them. I will always support KTM for not giving up on 2 strokes.

7/28/2026 10:24pm Ktms development kept the smokers alive. Flame away but without them your option is the 20 year old yz. No ktm, no 327.

7/28/2026 10:23pm Not Kawasaki related, but 2-stroke related. French publication Motoverte asked some people about the return of the two stroke and here's what the KTM boss in France had to say. I highlighted an interesting part. "We're one of the few manufacturers on the market to have always kept 2-stroke motocross bikes in our catalog. 4-strokes have gained market share because they're easier to ride, but technology has allowed us to smooth out the behavior of 2-stroke engines and broaden their power band, just like with 4-strokes. 2-strokes can be very powerful, but until now, you needed a certain skill level...

7/28/2026 12:02pm The 250 Euro are killing it right now. And I just passed 50hrs on my 250 with zero trans/clutch issues. Love the bike in the woods. Turns better then my KTM.

7/28/2026 12:02pm My 250 has been excellent so far. Got a great deal on it last spring. After a year of owning it I’d buy the bike again if I had to do it over. Been seeing a handful of them at the tracks lately as well.

7/26/2026 11:34am Anymore info on the bike, year etc? Would it have been run in the Japanese national Series? Don't remember Casio sponsored bikes in Europe but could be wrong. I remember Bradley Briggs, he was a decent 125 runner himself, got some good results in the British National 125cc Series around 1986-1988 seem to recall.
