Not sure if this has been mentioned but could this be another change being implemented purely for the purposes of making the promoter rights more attractive to prospective buyers? It can be presented as a new revenue stream - and as Luxon mentioned above it could be presented as millions of $ additional revenue in the pipeline for any interested parties. Especially if you extrapolate that Clubmx hypothetical number to a bunch of other teams too….yes it’s a total bullshit move with very little chance of success but when your end game is to offload this circus it makes way...

Instead of trying to fix it, how about just fucking it off altogether! Go back to standalone SX and MX titles, and all In for MXdN. Leaving plenty of rest time, or off season money making races for those that want to.

The fact that we are 4 years into this whole thing with only 1 year left in the TV deal and the entire industry is having discussions regarding wild format changes tell you everything. The execution of SMX has been a massive failure, i'm actually surprised that they fucked up this bad.

Posted it in a different thread. They call it the SMX Playoffs but no one gets eliminated as the rounds progress. Want to make this novelty SMX Playoffs thing more exciting to watch. Beware! I got into 1/8 scale ebuggy racing this year and it's terribly addictive. Now I'm building a 1/10 scale carpet rig so I can keep racing over the winter. Then 1/8 etruggy and 1/10 4wd ebuggy, so I can race those classes next year. Then onto nitro..... It's not cheap, but it scratches my itch to race and be competitive minus the hospital trips.

A lot of folk were upset when I said the first two rounds were a joke. The experience as a whole was really poor if you are promoting a “super” moto cross. The reasons it was below par are the following -venue, it doesn’t have to be the best. But if it is just OK and the track is a glorified AX for rookies without whoops, coupled with bad production on the coverage (not announcing, they keep it held together) you get a shitty round -track, I am all for close racing. But not at the expense of the tracks...
