kpiper Added a reply to Is Lucas Coenen, at the moment, the fastest rider in history without a title?
1 hour ago Truth. If the Coenen boys were not both leading the GPs when they came to the USA and had only won maybe a moto or two each, all year, there would not be all this talk. Clearly, GP titles are not the be-all, end-all for these guys. And that is perfectly fine. People can live the life they want.

8/5/2026 10:34am Too bad we didn't get to see 100% Lucas vs 100% Herlings last Saturday. It would have been something.

8/4/2026 9:00pm Another great Southwick racer was Mark Robillard. And the Hannah/Howerton duel there was just as good as the Saddleback Massacre, just no one talks about it.

8/1/2026 6:13pm In fairness to Lucas, he has gotten much better at keeping it on 2 wheels the last couple of years. The crash at Foxhills was not his fault, and I think his crash at Southwixk was a mechanical issue?

8/1/2026 11:37am Heres my dad ripping buckley berm in the 70’s with an open face, sand deep af. He was one of those local guys who would beat up on the national guys when they came to town. Heres another pic, not sure where, maybe capeway rovers.

8/1/2026 11:35am I grew up close enough to the track that I could sometimes hear the bikes coming off the start gate from my house. When my friend and I started going to the National in the mid 80’s I always thought Skyhook was the coolest part of the track. The first MX races in Southwick were in 1972, but not in the current location. The original track was closer to the center of town.

7/29/2026 12:48pm This right here. Happens every week and always has. Everyone says someone had something amazing faster pace at the end over the leader, but don’t mention the leader let off at the end lol.

7/28/2026 7:05pm I think the sooner they come the better off they’ll be. The tracks/style there are just different enough to where if you stay there too long you’ll have a harder time adapting here. At least it seems that way with Jorge. And he sealed the deal 4x over there. Lucas seems like a safe bet to do well eventually in sx. Sacha? …idk man.

7/28/2026 6:13pm RJ & Barcia. Keep Dylan as a test rider, as Honda does with Canard.

7/27/2026 6:05pm There was no good reason for Herlngs to be aggressive like that toward Lucas. Seems strange. Maybe he didn't mean to? The Coenen's should not race any SX in 2027. Practice it, yes. Race it, no. You can't try to just 'test it out' and somehow lessen your risk of injury. Ask Prado. Ask Gajser. Look at how many guys...

7/27/2026 5:59pm Since the dates conflict, if not winning the MX2 title, Sacha should come over for the SMX finals and take the money. He qualified winning at Southwick.

7/27/2026 5:56pm The idea that the Coenen brothers need to win an MXGP/MX2 World Championship before coming to America is outdated. Their long-term goal is success in the U.S., and history has shown that arriving as an MXGP/MX2champion doesn't meaningfully increase a rider's value or marketability here. American fans, sponsors, and teams judge riders by what they accomplish in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross not by titles won overseas. If America is the destination, the smartest move is to start building that legacy now, not delay it chasing a credential that won't change the outcome. If for some reason Lagenfelder came over...
