Any reasonable person looking at the actual data can see that Haiden back way off on the last two laps. He went from consistently doing 2:17 and 2:18 laps to suddenly 2:21 and 2:24 on the last two laps which is where Jett gained a 13 second gap. He knew he wasn’t going match Jett’s pace and rode the last two laps in. Unfortunately when the data is seen through rose-tinted glasses what you said (and what I said) will be interpreted much differently.

Portrayed personality aside, Deegan is having an impressive start on 450s. He is unfortunately being compared to two guys who are just that much more impressive. Haiden set high expectations with his cockiness but if we are fair, his performance is impressive.

I'd push back a bit, and say the last 2 laps Haiden realized Jett was on another level, and backed it off. I'm not a Deegan fan, but have to give him respect, he's an animal out there, and the closest one to the Law Firm.

Agreed. The track has to work for PW's up to 450's and it is great for that. It is plenty challenging and hills wouldn't add to it IMO. It is a special place, only gets used for the one event, and you have to qualify twice to be allowed to come. That's why it is a tru National Championship. I wish other sports would do this. Mountain Biking for example.

Deegan is def gonna be captain America whether we like it or not, because he deserves it. He’s the fastest 450 racer we have at the moment. Tomac is not it, and should probably take the off season off to get ready for supercross.

Ryan is right here. Both top riders lose their edge when they ride the other series. I don't think Vialle is the same in AMA as he is in the GPs. You could really see that at the last MXDN at Ernee when suddenly all the people that followed GPs were like "Ah, now that's the real Vialle" etc. The same is true when AMA based (or AMA developed) riders ride the MXDN or the few that might try a GP, rare as hens teeth though that now is. The difference is that the leap is (putting Supercross aside) easier...

Yups, Deegan is not rolling over, he tries hard and is worth all the praise for it... Different can be said about those outside top4 when they see Deegan coming.
