I think this hits the nail on the head.

To me, it just seems like he doesn’t want to have to work with the team more than he doesn’t want to ride the bike.

Perhaps why Jorge left Kawasaki as well?  This has been 'a thing' at Kawasaki since way back when Eli was riding there.

If Chase goes with KTM he is sure to be the low-man on the totem pole, equipment-wise.  He will likely have to race with very little salary, with a performance based income contract.

I'm still bewildered by how few options he's left himself at this point.

Likely all still dependent on where Kenny ends up signing and if he does.

Yamaha's road racing and AFT plans are still very much uncertain for '27 as well.  A lot of gears turning in Marrietta, GA these days.

There does seem to something about the factory Kawasaki 450 team that doesn't sit well with everyone, from certain riders to people in the media like Pulp and JT.

I'm not close to the situation to know what it is, but it seems possible that from a relationship or PR standpoint, they position themselves in the pits in a way that creates a dynamic that contributes to adverse feelings from some of these people that give off negative vibes in their statements regarding the team.

Media folks consistently complain about the Kawasaki teams PR.

Chiz was great on Pulp this week.

Said Chase wants the rear high but then complains about weight on the front…

Garret has his bike low in the rear and has no issues.

Chase rode Garrets bike and didn't like it.

Maybe set the bike up neutral and just ride it. Jetts is vet friendly and Keefer raved about it.

Also listened to ML and Lewis silly season wrap up and they didn't mention Chase which was weird.

Lewis did say Redbull KTM had 7 riders next year but then ML corrected him.

Obviously he knows more on the situation.

Listen to the yoshimura pivotable podcast with Lewis. Was worth a listen anyway if you want to hear his story, but in it he also talked about how often his speculation is just leaking things for people. This is not new and they all do it, sometimes pretty obviously, but with Lewis and chase he's too close to do this as everyone would know he's just reporting fact. 0% chance Lewis doesn't know what the plans are.

Alpinestars post today made me laugh. All their big name guys including retired Eli in pictures with their bike, then this for chase. Tell me more about that 3 year contract.

When they hired Malcolm…that’s all I needed to see. You can call it “insurance”…I call it “a plan”.

Chase went from winning to whining…again…& Kawi started making plans.

Even if he were to stay at Kawi…it seems to me it wouldn’t be much fun for ANYONE.

I see that some in the moto-media have commented that hes not buying his way out…I suspect he has to…in order to get out of his legal commitments.

That's the part I disagree with people the most on. This is always framed as kawi needing to keep chase and chase having to figure out how to get out of this against their objections. Not sure why people are so convinced kawi wants to dump millions more into this at the rate it's going. Last two years they paid millions to have their bike in the news for all the wrong reasons. Putting an end to that seems like a good business move. Marchbanks and Malcolm let you do that.

I can't help but think Kawasaki would or should be pleased with the whole current crew, Fahie and Chase, both getting different bosses. Neither of them seems to be fitting in their.

Fahie will still be in charge of the program though, right?

The shirt is interesting, it is brand agnostic, Yamaha blue, Honda red, Suzuki yellow, Kawasaki green.

Chase is probably enjoying messing with people!

pc having 5 and kawi having 3, i think the execs and/or monster are just tired of not having consistent representation out on track. we all know it will be down to ~3 and 1-2 mid season one way or another.

So how long until over half of the factory bikes will be setup by you? By the end of next year? Lol!

It was a good straight ahead show. I'd been thinking I hadn't heard from you in a bit.

It would be nice if you were in the guest host rotation,  let's say every 6 months. And do a spot on Pulps Thursday show every other month.

I appreciate your honest transparency.

He isnt - at least thats what it looks like, he wanted a massive retirement party which he never got (not saying that was right or wrong but his insta post made clear he's salty) and seems like he's working in a machine shop somewhere.

Quadlock wouldn't have the budget.

Doesnt KTM have one of the most stacked rider line up they ever had next year?

Makes sense to see Chase back on KTM. Sit Lucas out of the 2027 SX.

Still not close to 100% healthy. IMO, he should just practice SX. Maybe ride Daytona? Focus on trying to win the Nationals. Then ride SMX (if it still exists).

Lucas Coenen will eventually be way too close to the other riders on the test track. He won't sit out once he is ready. Racing is the best way of learning, it seems like too many people have forgotten that. He might line up for the first time at A1 2027, Daytona or maybe not at all during the 2027 season. But this whole talk about already deciding to sit out and just practise on the cookiecutter test tracks is just crazy talk and not attached to reality and how elite level riders think. They want to race, and they will race the second they feel like they can do it on a proper level.

Except Lucas is far from healthy actually! Not the best way to learn US Supercross in 450cc category...

When you have hardly even practiced any SX your whole life, jumping into A1 is not the best way to learn. It would be a quick way to get injured. SX takes a long time to get comfortable.

DeCoster even alluded to this recently. KTM needs to slow down Lucas's enthusiasm to jump into SX too early, IMO. Same with Sacha.
