Stalemate and forever war are pretty much the same thing but I don't see any of those countries nuking up any time soon. But that does raise an issue: Since the general global agreement of post WWII has been broken, by this administration I might add, many countries are looking at nuking up. Doesn’t change the fact that atomic weapons have only been used in combat twice, for one reason: the enemy did not have nukes of their own. Once the USSR detonated their own weapon in ‘49, the global balance of power shifted. Just as it would shift if Iran acquired a nuke. Hence the reason they, and many other nations, would find nuclear weapons to be the ultimate defensive weapon. And why Israel will destroy any nuclear development. By any means necessary.
