I think that the overseas are killing the opportunities to move a team into MX2 or even MXGP. Teams are opting for a EMX season, as the MX2/MXGP is to expensive at the moment.

Mewse didn't even do the UK GP as a wildcard this year, why would anyone want to employ him for a GP ride with his history internationally? Like PhilG mentions, he has a nice and comfortable thing going on doing the domestic series.

Yeah and he would be a good rider to employ for a year when you can't find a proper number 1 rider that replaces Febvre.

MXGP doesn't want 40 riders on the gate and that's fine, AMA wants 40 riders on the gate and that's fine. Many of the MXGP tracks have a hard time handling 40 riders at the top level as their typical lap times are 15-20 seconds shorter than the AMA tracks. As a fan I like both...

I am sure i heard over the MXGP broadcast that Fernandez was going to Yamaha to replace Renaux. With 2 new manufacturers now tapping into the rider pool (Ducati and Triumph) its even more important to develop talent in the lower classes. I have to say , that with Coenen's leaving , the time for a good US rider to come to MXGP has never been better.
