Vialle scrubs this, drops the front, and hits the ground hard. He does a great job of rolling out of the landing and really minimizes the damage. I just don't understand what caused his front to drop like that. What actually caused his front to drop here/how could he have avoided this?
Whoever was behind him was really sharp to avoid hitting that bike.

Too much rear brake/peg dragged on the face
Why would he be on the rear brake here?
I think he means the foot peg and shifter drug on the jump face, which pitches the front end into an endo.
Gravity.... (:

Weight too far forward and the rear end kicked off the lip
He said on interview between motos jump face was slick from watering. May have hit kicker too or dragged peg but he didn’t say it.
He whipped it too hard. Happens. I guess the “why “ could be because Vialle gets too excited sometimes.
Herlings was behind him.
Got it, and you can see a plume of dirt come up around the peg area.
In the photo posted above you can see dirt clods coming off the peg. In one of his interviews, he said he clipped the peg in the scrub and it caused the bike to kick.
The announcer called it immediately. Too much peg
Vialle said the jump face was wetter and slicker than he expected, resulting in the peg drag and crash. Herlings said he took it easy after witnessing Tom's misadventure.
Yep, Too aggressive on a just watered track.
The presence of mind to roll out and then dive off the track all in one motion is commendable, as is Herlings reaction time to miss the carnage. Elite from both of them.
According to Dan Fahie, Vialle inadvertently tapped the rear brake in the air. 😅
That could have been a terrible outcome for Herlings, it's almost as if he saw it coming.
The question is what caused the dragging peg.
The important thing he said in the interview that the watering might caused his front wheel to slip. Cause he also said he didnt scrub it that hard.
When the frontwheel slips away that lowers the bike (without the intention of doing so), which then caused the peg to hit the face of the jump
right on coach
He was jumping for show instead of cornering for dough.
Pit Row
Agreed. Watched on replay several times. Herlings reaction time was amazing.
the rear shock, sit out the next moto and sign with new team
Too much engine braking from the 4-stroke. He'd have been fine on a CR500.
I think it's pretty obvious what caused his crash.
Same thing for Kevin at 36:40. You see it occassionally. More hassle than it's worth imo (not that I could ever do it...).
