Joe Leonard was multi time AMA grand national champ and Daytona 200 winner that went on to a very successful auto racing career. 1/6/2026 7:57am I think you meant the EX500, ZX6 and then the EX650, but all of them sell very well. Good bikes without the all the high end suspension and exotic metals (ZX6 not so much), that look great, run great and are affordable as well as being easy to finance. I feel like I've heard of that recipe suggested somewhere else...

I’m in my 60s and I get it: Branding. And they’re not “branding” to my demo…they’re branding to the kids…the present and future kids of moto. What I’m seeing is this: Fox is dropping some coin on this launch. I’ve seen other down-town LA footage that is pretty damn amazing. Then there’s the “Diamond Hole-Shot” & other scenes they've shot. All of it is impressive. How about 450 Deegan being chased by 250 Deegan? Like, I said, it’s not aimed at me; but, I’m impressed. Hell, I don’t even have a Tik-Tok acct…so, there ya go…it ain’t aimed at me…but...

No one is saying you can't love or have a 4 stroke MX bike...you just can't ride it anywhere. Why? Fkng Karens all over this great country. They hear a frog fart and they call it in. Embrace the electric bike...it may save the sport.

Good...maybe it will be the start of the death the loud ass 4 stroke. I love ICE engines, but the modern 4 stroke is responsible for A LOT of track closures.

Yamaha and others, like Honda and Kawasaki, have to look into any viable segment…and here we are. Yamaha should be able to deliver for a pretty decent price since they’re utilizing their existing chassis. Electric Motion must have been on to some really good tech…because, Yamaha buying them is a bit of a head scratcher when you realize how much they’d already achieved with their own with electric motors, controllers and that type of tech. Hell, many years ago I remember they had an in-hub electric motor for wheelchairs…and I mean way before all this e-bike and electric moto stuff...

Aiming to contest MXEP alongside world championship in future. Yamaha Motor has uncovered an electric-powered ‘YE-01 Racing Concept’, being developed in preparation for an upcoming entry in the MXEP category to be held at select rounds of the Motocross World Championship in the future. In collaboration with strategic partner Electric Motion (EM), the YE-01 is heavily based upon the current generation 2026 model YZ450F. The YE-01 Racing Concept is an ongoing project, merging advanced technologies from both Yamaha and EM. It has a YZ450F chassis, including a KYB fully-adjustable speed-sensitive front fork and rear shock to bring the ride experience...

I think his opening A1 ride on Yamaha helped cement that he gelled with it. Got the lead, crashed out of lead, passed back into lead. Then his whole 22 season was magic. Edit: I had my years backwards and thought he won A1 22, I was thinking of 2023.

He was quite the stud on a 250 Honda too. Tomac has an exciting style, thats a lot of fun to watch - Anderson use to be that guy, I hope he can bring it back with his new Suzuki ride.

I just think the Yamaha felt like an extension of Eli Tomac in a way that not many other athletes seem to be able to replicate with their own machines. Cooper Webb rides a Yamaha.. but it has never felt or looked the same. Under Eli, It was just aggression personified. If there was ever a bike built for one specific rider, it feels like it was a Yamaha for Eli Tomac. The end of an era.
