Congrats on the new scoot. More photos of your 83 250 please. That’s a braap
That’s right I completely forgot about those, I had an 83 125.
Pretty sure the swingarm were clear anodized from the factory same as the fork lowers. As for the logo it’s definitely not a decal.. if it was screen printed the paint used is translucent as you can see the the aluminum brushed marks through it.

Yep as quicken shows in his pic the 84 was not a decal. I’m thinking maybe it was silk screened on then clear anodized. It’s definitely not easy to remove.
Whoops, did not notice that.. it was pretty late when I replied.. it was a long day haha
Thanks, I’m not looking for a decal. The original was anodized into the swingarm.
Figured I would ask here as the FB groups haven’t been much help in this situation. I’m building a 84 CR250RE as a display piece for my personal collection. I’ve spent a lot tracking down as many nos parts as I can, however I cannot find a nos swingarm. ... more »

Awesome build, I just did the same with an 02, the restyle kit is nice and all but they got the hole for the rear shock adjuster way too low, almost need to get the right side off to adjust it. Was wondering if it’s just me, but I see everyone else’s

Hi Tony, any chance you got the 1976 FMF catalog?
Got her running today, yep.
Thanks guys, the pipe is what caught my attention. I’m thinking of restoring the bike.. it’s all there and in good condition. I would have preferred a 73, but the 75 is pretty rare from what I’m told, as sales were slow due to the bike being outdated. ... more »

Spraying then scrubbing, and a good rinse, and repeat. I’m in Canada so the closest to Napa is lordco. They have the generic “blue stuff” aluminum brightener. It reacts with rusty steel also.

eBay. And join the Vintage CR groups on FB, tons of good people willing to help.
Spent an hour cleaning the exhaust on the brass wheel today.. wow it’s a cool piece. Not a single dent anywhere. Was careful around the sticker as I found no replacements.

I think you are right, spent the day cleaning the bike, took of the exhaust, it’s definitely genuine, other that surface rust it’s mint, not a single dent. I wonder how rare is it? Could not find a single picture of it online. And no mice in the airbox, ... more »
Lol probably.. just picked her up today, hope to get her running before the end of the day tomorrow. Has spark and great compression so will see... been sitting for decades.
Hello Folks was wondering if anyone can confirm this is a genuine fmf pipe? It was on 75 CR250M Elsinore I just bought... I’m not that familiar with the early Elsinores, I collect mid 80s bikes.. Thanks in advance!

Thought this one was pretty funny.
I bought his bike. Saw his build thread and his for sale ad on here. I’m not a “rich guy” but have been looking for a proper 87 for 5 years when his ad popped up. What was being asked was reasonable for the level of work imo, what almost killed it for ... more »
