I mean if Yamaha just throws money at you then sure. But it’s definitely the last bike/team anyone wants to ride for.

No secret that Kawi likes to dump their top riders regardless of championships.
As does Honda. Wink

I didn't post that nor did I insinuate that in the slightest.. and you're accusing me of jumping to conclusions.

Your first conclusion is they offered him more money. How do you know that? maybe Kawi didn’t make him another offer, or it was only for one year and he wanted 2. You then assume he doesn’t have as much desire to win because he might be switching teams for more money. Yea I’m pretty sure you jumped to conclusions
I'll admit I definitely jumped to conclusions with his intentions, but in my defense I don't think anyone looks at the Yamaha as a lateral move equipment wise over any other bike except the Suzuki. I have no issue with him getting paid as much as he can, it's an extremely dangerous sport and they have a small window to make a living at it, do what you have to do.

Selfishly though, as someone who is a big fan of Eli's and have enjoyed watching him compete at the highest level, I can't help but be somewhat disappointed as I do not believe this will be a positive move results wise.

Who knows, I'll happily be proven wrong.

Whatever he does, I hope it improves his situation. Tomac fan or not, I think we can all agree that his "beast mode" rides over the past 3-4 years have been some of the best dirt bike riding we've seen in recent memory, and it would be fun to see it again. And not just once or twice a season like this year.

I’d like to see him back on a Honda. He had some unreal rides in MX before injuring his shoulders.

RV didn’t sound so happy at Kaw in 14’. Maybe not the environment that gels with all riders at that level in the long run.

This silly season is about to get real silly. Should Tomac move then the game of musical chairs will get into full swing.

To be clear, you’re stating the star Yamaha is on par with a Suzuki?

3 of the top 8 in the SX point standings were on Yamahas. Since those 3 riders are not top 5 talent are the blue bikes not on par with the other makes?

If Tomac wants out at Kawi it would be a great time for Suzuki to release a next gen RMZ and write him a fat cheque.

Isn’t Star moving to Florida to the GOAT Farm? Tomac seems pretty happy up in the mountains. I’m sure any team would work around wherever he wants to live, but testing seems a bit harder.

No that's not what I said. I said that I believe the general consensus is that the Yamaha is not an upgrade over any bike besides the Suzuki. I am not saying that is fact, I'm sure it's a very capable bike even at the pro level but that is the impression I get.

They must allow a little leeway there as JMart practiced most of the off season in California, but not with the rest of the Yamaha guys.

Maybe both, but he seemed to do quite a bit of training in CA as well. There were a number of videos floating around with him and Carson Mumford.

If Forkner is moving up next year for outdoors, then it's a good move for Kawi.
He's already said that he's racing 250 for SX 2022.
Forkner + Cianciarulo is a good team.

A change of scenery is probably good for Tomac too.

No. Way. Is. Forkner. ready. for. a. 450. No disrespect, but he can't keep a 250 on 2 wheels.

I agree, but that's what he says is the plan.
Evidently, he was supposed to move up for SX in 2022, but is staying down this coming year.
We'll see what happens.

You said it was a lateral move to the Suzuki.

If so, that may open a SX ride only then. Who could it be ? Mookie !

If this happens, I think it’s a great indicator of just how serious Star is at being an elite team and succeeding where the factory Yamaha team failed.
As for Tomac, it may be a good rejuvenation at this stage of his career.
