Second best MX day of my life. It was so hot but the fans were cheering so loud and waving the little American flags. I still have my flag, ticket and program from that race. Great memories.

I think number 30 is Robgvx , holeshoting a few years later:

And, a few views of the 4 jump up hill, with the drop into the killing zones, that both Riders, and Spectators, took risks with:

Looking down the same battlement / killing zone, to the City below:

Track map from goodness only knows which year :

The jump - well, natural hill / level change, out onto The Esplanade:

Best MX day of my life was 85 Namur GP. I was lucky and stationed in Germany with the Air Force. I walked every inch of that track. Nothing like it. Those works 500 2 strokes flying through the trees. Unbelievable....And I got to see Danny "Magoo" Chandler on the KTM ride there. Crazy I got to see him ride in local Nor Cal races and then a few years later at the highest level in Belgium.

Here is a shot I took of David Thorpe on the RC500 Honda.

One of my great regrets over the many years is that my friend Paul Karsmakers (Pierre's brother) offered me a bike to ride the amateur ride day at Namur, a few days before the GP

Being I would have to fly in days earlier, I hadn't ridden in years and short notice, I declined believing I could do it next year.

There hasn't been a next year since, unknown at the time, that was the last Namur race

Old guy (me) surrounded by first aid after a big crash seems quite representative

I’m pretty sure this is a cropped version of the actual photo but I’ve had it on my phone for years

This is one of the most badass photos I have ever seen. Style for miles! Girls frame, slammed banana seat with cut down sissy bar! Very much reminds me of my first bike sans the girl frame.

se7enmx is that you?

You can see in the last of this video he is pointing to his brother that passed racing a few years back.

I was honestly hoping he was just being cocky AF because we need more of that.

I do not recommend trying this.
I fucked up really bad doing on an 82 YZ250.

When your head says "too much throttle", and your wrist says OK. If you aren't really thinking, your wrist will pin it. I had my hands turned the wrong way.

Best MX racing picture I have ever seen. Ricky full on the gas and Chad in a different line, committed and looking ahead to where they will both arrive.
Chad's retro Yamaha setup was sweet too..

Not motocross, but 'dirt bike'.
As a young boy this image represented all I needed to know about motorcycles.

One of my photos from Saddleback, 1975. That's Steve Wise and Jeff Jennings. A second earlier they'd bumped hips in the air, each reacted and shifted apart before landing and then continuing with their moto-long duel.

That is Broc Glover winning the first moto at the 1983 Trophee Des Nations in Svereca, Slovakia (old Czechoslovakia). USA won overall.

So it appears one photo can't justify our passion for the best sport there is all over the world.

Bailey. Saddleback. Works Honda. Is there anything in this picture that doesn't scream moto perfection?
