RC pulling the holeshot and grabbing a tear off and Kevin Windham pulling the holeshot and laying it in a rut in the first turn are most motocross to me. That is some crazy commitment!

That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my life. At first I thought he was being cocky and it was awesome, then he said why he did it and it was even better.

I too thought he did it for pure “stoke” but heard the reason and was like damn that is badass. How collected do you have to be to be able to think of that in that exact position and moment of his career.

FAN!

I think number 30 is Robgvx , holeshoting a few years later:

And, a few views of the 4 jump up hill, with the drop into the killing zones, that both Riders, and Spectators, took risks with:

Looking down the same battlement / killing zone, to the City below:

Track map from goodness only knows which year :

The jump - well, natural hill / level change, out onto The Esplanade:

This pic got hung up on my bedroom wall when I was a teenager. For me, this represents everything that moto was in the 80's.

Another winner! Magoo ...Roadhog ... coming out of the gravity cavity at Unadilla. I was there, it was epic and surreal to see Magoo riding in upstate NY at that time....

Awesome. I have to agree with this one. I was there that day. I'll never forget unbelievable drama and disappointment which quickly turned to excitement as we caught sight of him flying up the start straight to join the race... just as Barcia, (Leading), was 1 turn from putting him a lap down which I believe would have disqualified him from entering the race.
Note: That's my buddy Norm with the umbrella in his hand.

There was a picture of Billy Payne Sr. in a magazine floating down a hill (probably Carlsbad or Saddleback) on a Maico in the 70s with long hair floating out from the back of his helmet. It was everything this young kid (at the time) motocross represented to me. I would love to find that picture!

I posted the Emig hot tub Shift ad as a bit of a joke but this one is more accurate for me.
