The truck drivers are the hardest working guys at the team on race day. I know 2 former factory team drivers, and they grind hard when at that job.

Yep. I'm a truck driver and I've got a close buddy who's well-connected in the industry, so he knows what the pay is like. I'd probably have to take a $30k-40k cut in annual salary to take this Star job. And, as you say, all of those ancillary duties, being over-the-road for months on end, etc. It just doesn't seem to be worth it for an experienced driver. I'll keep watching races on Peacock and go to a couple per year.

I know dudes in the industry and professional wasn't lying. The stories I hear about them. How about taking a bath in a toilet to save money for a shower.

Pay, schedule, hours, away from family. It is not as glamorous as it seems.

I laughed at all Professionals stories thinking they are fake about all the foreign drivers. The last few months have changed my mind. He is telling the truth. Maybe this job would be perfect for him.

People have been getting bikes stolen because they posted a for sale ad on Marketplace basically daily. If you are in local track or bike type subgroups you will see at least a post a day about stolen bikes after a Marketplace listing. It's where the thieves shop. You tell them you have dirt bikes. They look at your pictures and can get a real good idea of just how many. Then grab your address, one or two drive by scopes, a quick peak at google earth, game on. They'll bring 10-20 dudes. U Hauls, Enterprise vans like Fed Ex...

I remember basically everybody shitting on Ralph when he was announcing AMA SX and as soon as Ricky hopped in many (not all) people seemed really nostalgic for him. Let this be a reminder that Ralph sucks ass at announcing supercross. Ricky/Diffey/Stew aint that bad. Woodpeckers and Moles.

These are hilarious. People are acting like the KTM is some alien that cannot be mastered. KTM has won a lot of championships for a reason. He will be fine.

I always thought that our sport was so weird with when deals are announced even though they have been signed months ago. In MotoGP riders sign early and they and the teams are able to talk about it whenever, and that is a much bigger sport with the same OEMs as we have. Yet we are going to the other direction, even later announcements and more radio silence. It's ridiculous.
