I remember basically everybody shitting on Ralph when he was announcing AMA SX and as soon as Ricky hopped in many (not all) people seemed really nostalgic for him. Let this be a reminder that Ralph sucks ass at announcing supercross. Ricky/Diffey/Stew aint that bad.

I’d take Ralph over Diffey any day! Diffey is by far the worst 

At least diffey seems to be a better all around sports commentator and isn't at a total loss for words half the time. 

When I go back and watch races, ralph isn't bad at all, but this event was pretty bad.

Perhaps Ralph is just rusty? What has he been up to since he stopped doing supercross?

Par for course with Ralph, BUT what’s going on with DB?  He looks like a homeless guy.  Don’t get me wrong, I love DB, but come on, take a shower.  Looks like Delta lost his luggage.

Met Ralph at the airport while visiting Seattle SX a few years ago. Really nice dude and I don’t think I can root against him.

I do prefer Blair and Emig on the mic over RC or JS7.

Just curious, what do you think makes RC even worse than Ralph? (I think they're even btw).

For Ralph at least: Fumbles every sentence, doesn't know how many more laps they have to do when it's showing 7/8 laps, can't name most of the riders names (just calls the number) and then repeats whatever Emig says. Refers to Brazil and the brazilian crowd multiple times in the broadcast. Just stops mid sentence randomly because he doesn't know what to say next. English isn't even my native language and I still feel embarrassed hearing him.

It was exactly like that during his last years of doing AMA SX. I get it, people have that feeling of nostalgia from 15+ years ago when they hear his voice. But even here on Vital most people were glad when he got replaced. 

If Ralph was the only guy available I'd maybe understand.. But having Blair and Emig there and still putting Ralph in the booth is just wasted money and makes the broadcast worse. Same with RC/Diff btw while having Weege/AC and JB available. It just doesn't make sense.

Edit: Also.. I can't be the only one who thinks three guys in the booth is just one too many most of the time?

That's cool, he does seem like a nice person, no doubt about it. But the cashier at my closest supermarket is also always super nice and friendly, that doesn't mean I want him to call an SX race.

I watched it on tubi and thought something was off with those guys but figure it was a backend production problem more than anything else. 

It was odd when Emig spotted someone bust out a quad quite late into the night show, when several riders had been doing it all night.

Sounded like both Ralph and Jeff are out of practice but the only really cringe moments where when Ralph would yell "light the candles" at every race finish. But anyone is better than RC. 😎

I thought the same thing.  Its very odd not to see the top commentator in the broadcast. Maybe his flight got cancelled out of miami or he got covid on the plane. Or he is just FOS about flying there.
