May I throw out another highly implausible scenario:
Someone in marketing is an old school purist and went rogue, creating a 2 stroke campaign to force the engineers to create a bike they wanted to exist. Soggy declares marketing to be the enemy, but in this case, they are our dear friend.
Huh?
With inflation it'll be a 490cc by the time it's released.
There are no purists in marketing, the field is entirely gobbledegook.
BITCH, I WORK IN MARKETING!

If that was true you wouldn't be surprised!
You're right, 100% bullshit.
At this point, I could care less. I had genuine interest in the beginning of all this bullshit, simply because I am old I guess..... But after thinking a bit on it, I really don't give a fuck. I have had more birthdays to celebrate in my life, than I am going to have coming towards me. Waiting around on something that I want, doesn't interest me anymore..... I am saying this because I have already had a birthday since these fuckers announced this, and I am probably going to have another before this world changing bike, or bikes, will come along for us to enjoy...... So, I will happily spend my funds elsewhere.
I was a Team Green kid growing up, and their word on this bike seems to be as good as their word was in the 80's, "Just wait kid, it'll be great!!! You'll see!!",,,,,,,,, Some bullshit seems to never change.
Marketing is 10% truth, 50% bullshit and 40% simply trying to extend the life cycle of the product.
Eh, you don’t even know if it’s something you want because we don’t know what it is.
all these people saying ‘I’ll spend my money elsewhere’ probably weren’t buying the bike anyway.
Heard Kevin Sherman was spotted testing it at pax
I never really understood the excitement. Plenty of makers currently of two strokes.
Funny how no one will remember this thread once its released, and all will be forgiven.
the excitement is pretty easy to understand. The Japanese 2 stroke was nearly killed off and a 2 stroke is the purest form of the ICE for a lot of people. And It’s nostalgia.
Yes, Sir, I do know what I wanted. It is real simple......
I know I was hopped up on a new KX 2 stroke. In the adult size, whatever cc's, whatever discipline....... I wanted it. If a new 125, 150? Yes, I'd scream it until she sang in harmony. If a bigger bore? Yes, I would lug, and open it up accordingly. Been there, got it down to where it suits me fine. Bottom line? It really didn't matter to me, If options were to be had, then cool! I have options! To me, I was just happy that a green bike that sounded like what I was raised on really caught my interest......
But not anymore.. Maybe the day will come, maybe not. At this point, I could really care less...... There are other choices to be had, without the mental fuck job we have all experienced for the batter side of a year now.....
So, in closing..... Yes, I knew what I wanted. And have funds ready for said purchase. KHI just didn't come through.....again. Time is up fuckers....
The delay is because Tommy Norton rode the prototype at the Snowshoe GNCC this year, but he DNF'd and they had to start over from square one.

About as far as I got with this was being curious what the bike might be. I have a 2006 YZ250 that I've had since it was new and also a Husky FC350 and in my mind the 06 YZ250 scratches my 2 stroke itch just fine. Part of my apathy on this phantom Kaw is that for whatever reason I've never really been a big Kaw fan.
Actually, I do know why I've not been a fan. Back in 1987 I had an 86 CR250 that I loved but when a buddy of mine bought a 1987 KX250 I was looking forward to taking a spin on it. We were riding at DeAnza the day we swapped bikes and I honestly thought I had a low tire or something and even stopped to check to make sure both tires were ok. Figured it was in my head and got going again but that KX handled so differently than my CR it was not a fun ride on hardpack. The main issue was that when doing any kind of cornering on hardpack it felt like the back end had it's own mind and didn't follow the front end like the CR. Later I read a review that said something about the KX feeling like it had a hinge in the middle and to me , that sounded like a good way of describing how that 87 KX felt.
Sorry for rant against vintage KXs
Marketing knew the release date. Just sayin...
Has Kawasaki ever built a Die Cast two stroke bottom end?
Pit Row
I'm pretty sure Kawasaki has been die casting all engine cases for decades.
Not their 2 stroke diesel engines...
They never when said it would be released at any point in time..
Mental fuck job 😆 grow up. Hilarious to see so many grown men bent out of shape over a dirt bike.
“Kawasaki is bringing the two stroke back!”…..to the drawing board 🥲 😆
This whole time it was actually a new two stroke diesel container ship engine. They played us like a fiddle.
This really is a shame. If they'd managed to put out a 125/150/200 by now I'd be lined up for delivery. It's not just that it hasn't hit the store, it's the complete lack of information. I'd of been fine with "we're still working out the kinks, hang with us" but the crickets are a total piss off.
So the people saying "November" were proven wrong. Highly doubtful they let this out in the midst of the Christmas season, so that takes to January. The announcement was made at A2 last year. I guess the question is will we hear something by A2 2026 or is Kawi going to let a year go by with no updates.
Marketing is 99 percent bullchit... there I fixed it for ya...
I would imagine about the same amount of people would buy a new Kawasaki two stroke as those that would buy a new KTM or a new beta or Yamaha. But you can’t buy what you can’t see.
pretty sure the solid reports from guys worked at a dealer or have industry insight hearing that the plan was scrapped is probably 100% correct as much as we like two strokes and want to buy two strokes you get the feeling that they’re going by the wayside.
Just know your sales department hates you.
If you can still buy liquid fuel to even use it.
Isn’t there another guy on here that only types in ALL CAPS? Says in the guidelines not to right? I guess the guidelines have changed, I’ll have to go back and read them.
