joekarter Added a reply to Most Prestigious Championship - Your Opinion
5/16/2026 9:25am If someone from anywhere in the world other than the US were to walk into a riders trophy room and take a look around what would they think? On one end of the shelf is a trophy for either US championship and on the other is a trophy that says world champion. For me it's a no brainer, our championships...

joekarter Added a reply to Rumors say that KTM is bringing back the 360SX
1/24/2026 10:20am Raced a RM370 back in the day...my 3rd favorite bike ever. A true open bike but not even close to the beasts the 500's were.

joekarter Added a reply to Would you buy/race one?
12/20/2025 12:03pm I know I would certainly consider buying and racing a bike that had the same level of technology and quality as the early 80's bikes. From the looks of the Kove and a couple of the other Chinese bikes I think they're about there. I really think the thing that would push something like this into the mainstream would be...
joekarter Started a new thread Would you buy/race one?
12/19/2025 8:19am Up until recently I raced with a vintage group here in Arizona. I think the club was averaging about 75 to 100 entries an event and everyone was having a great time. Vintage racing really requires an old school track and the bikes are getting pretty used up so the sport really (at least here in AZ) is kinda up...

joekarter Added a reply to Kawasaki is bringing the two stroke back!
12/3/2025 7:56am This really is a shame. If they'd managed to put out a 125/150/200 by now I'd be lined up for delivery. It's not just that it hasn't hit the store, it's the complete lack of information. I'd of been fine with "we're still working out the kinks, hang with us" but the crickets are a total piss off.
joekarter Added a reply to How long do you intend to ride?
12/3/2025 7:47am 70 and went riding on a local practice track yesterday. Still ride trials, offroad, and if we could get our act back together here in AZ, vintage motocross. The answer to the question...until I can't.
joekarter Added a reply to How about we just go back to naming a grand national champ?
9/22/2025 9:04am Consistency is as valuable toward winning championships as overall spreed. Chase was really the only person who could run with Jett but who had the better year overall, Chase or Justin?
joekarter Started a new thread How about we just go back to naming a grand national champ?
9/22/2025 8:22am What if: There was one additional supercross and one additional outdoors that count for points A grand national champ in both 250 and 450 was named based on accumulated points We celebrate that achievement through some sorta meaningful low key awards/party/bash that has no ties, suits, boring speeches or anything else that looks corporate during a streamed fan fest kinda...

joekarter Added a reply to 99-02 Kawis
8/30/2025 8:34am I'll start by saying I'm a Kawi guy who only owns a Yamaha 'cause the green crew hasn't figured out how to get the new 2T's to the dealers. That said I love those bikes. I raced a '99 with our local vintage group for about 4 years and just had a blast with the thing. The handling is greatly...
joekarter Added a reply to The true World Championship?
7/15/2025 1:40pm I think the real discussion isn't whether our (the AMA series) is the world championship (it's not) but rather why is MXGP such a shadow of what it once was. Tracks in countries around the world are and should be different and present riders with an array of challenges not to mention the travel, language barriers and just simple things...
joekarter Added a reply to It’s time to slow bikes down
6/30/2025 9:25am If you have access to one and someplace to try this out take something like an XR250 out in a field and lay out a course with some ribbon. No (or minimal) jumps, just a fun easy to ride track. Obviously the bike has worlds less suspension and power and this is gonna seem really lame but ride for about...
joekarter Added a reply to Amateur Motocross Pricing Itself Out?
6/4/2025 5:33pm Imagine if you could go down to the bike shop, lay out around 3 to 4 thousand for an air cooled drum brake 125 or 250. Then once you go a bit familiar with it round up 25 buddies, find an empty field, throw up some ribbon and have fun. I think sometimes we've all forgotten what made this sport...

5/29/2025 5:35am I've tried a bunch and my favorites are Oakley L frame. The tear off system is not great (good enough but not great) but they fit really well and they're a really quality goggle.

12/21/2024 7:32am I know I'm gonna get flamed for this but we're a large part of the problem. Many of us on this forum were around in the early days of the sport. Think back to what tracks looked like in those days and compare that to what your local track looks like now. Most sports look at injuries as something to...

joekarter Added a reply to New Arizona tracks?
8/16/2024 5:06pm The shame of it is it's about doing in vintage racing (old bikes and old dudes). Neither of the remaining tracks seem interested in building a vintage friendly (think 70's era) track and while I thoroughly appreciate the events at Blythe, it's hard to justify investing in the sport for just a few races a year.
