I had one of the most simple and economical LL I've ever had this year. And ironically it's the only time I've ever actually gotten in the program and raced! Showed up on Sunday evening and pulled into a little spot off the road up on stagecoach hill and setup a canopy. Had a bunch of Best Western hotel points saved up, so staying the week in a hotel cost us $260 total. Tossed the bike in the Metris van and drove from Ohio getting 25mpg. 6061-T6 from different sources and certainly different continents…can, will, does…have different quality and doesn’t always meet the same “specification” in the real world. This is especially when talking about China and commercial goods.

Awesome video! Frozen Ocean is still open, but under new ownership. I ride there quite a bit still (about 40 mins from my house). New track layout last year breathed some life into the place, hopefully they keep up the good work!

Spot on @motox11. I was 19 years old #238 in this picture. It's dated August 24th 2000, so I'm pretty sure it's from this event. Then again, it might be another big event they had that was at a later date from the Pro night. So long ago, I don't remember.

I was in California for a couple weeks, planned on staying to witness the most stacked 450 gate of all time. Unfortunately had to bail back home on Tuesday to handle some BS for work. I've never put a bike inside a house before. I did put some in a few motel 6 rooms when I went to the races with a pick up truck in 96-97... Just like the Japanese wave in the ’60s, it started with rough builds and evolved into refinement. On that note, CFMoto has been producing bikes and components for brands many people already respect, more than most realize. And then there’s the story behind Kove. The founder could have been one of us. He was a kid with a dream of racing the Dakar Rally. He didn't have a bike, so he built one. Politics aside, that’s something I can respect.

It was an awesome time for mx in NY when both nationals were back to back with usually a break between. Frozen Ocean was absolutely insane during that time.
