I'm a 50+ intermediate and seeing Darkside and that dude on the Maico this year got me wondering if maybe, just maybe.....#bucketlist ??????

But I snapped out of it pretty quick when I started thinking about logistics and costs. Good on ya if you can make it happen but on principle alone I don't think I could pay $878 for the "privilege" of driving a small vehicle like a Metris onto a property and parking in the woods. The week at the ranch is one thing but getting there (qualifiers, fuel, etc) is a whole thing too. I'm priced out man. Local racing is gonna have to do. I'm just glad I'm still healthy enough to do it. 👍

West coast guy? That would be tough.

878 over 7 days isn't really horrible for a pretty major bucket list item. The extra car pass and pit vehicle prices are really the only place I feel robbed. I didnt pay the $100 per device wifi eithet because I took a starlink. If I was there solo id definitely pay the 100 for it tho for the week.

I wonder what the insurance bill is for an event like this? With mostly minors racing I bet it's not cheap.

I’ve noticed the ones who complain about the expense of Loretta’s are often the ones who didn’t qualify.

Keep in mind the guy on the Maico is really fast.  He's raced LL 25 times and has many top ten finishes.

He qualifies on his modern bike and beats a lot of really fast guys to make it in.  Then has chosen to race the Maico there for a few years now and does respectable on that.

The costs involved are what kept me away until I was older.  I simply could not afford the costs and time off work to even try to qualify.  Yes it's expensive, but as others have stated it's in line or less expensive than most other week long family vacations.

For me as a regular B/C rider at 56 years old to finally make it on the gate there = priceless.

My kids play soccer.  The last tournament in SD (played Friday-Monday) was around a $2700 weekend for most players on the team.  We did it as cheap as possible.  Was still $1400.

Don't get me wrong, LL and moto in general is expensive.  But a kid playing on a similar level youth sports team is crazy expensive also.  And not near as cool!! Lol

Facility fee is like $880 with the CC Fee. That includes your camping & wrist band. Gets you in for Sunday to Saturday. $75 per day for early arrival. Most people show up 3-7 days ahead of time.

$250 per class.

$200 per pit vehicle & $200 for extra vehicle.

WiFi $100 per device for the week. Just get a starlink.

What was the fee to have a chainsaw at the podium? Must have been high because I didn't see any.

Just an FYI. The kid who won 450C and finished second in 250C did it on the older generation Husqvarna's (Pre-2023). Those bikes are going for like $3500-$4500 used in good condition in my area.  You don't need a new bike to win.

Everybody freaking out about costs, its everywhere.

My neighbors 12 year old plays competitive softball, he just paid $7k to register her for next year.

Best times I remember are the times I had with my parents racing in the NE, still laugh about them 20 years later. Spent a ton of money (theirs and mine) Now 36 with a 3YO myself, we drive a ton racing BMX, and seeing him have fun is worth every damn penny.

Remember Jeremy Robin winning in 2013 on an old 1985 Honda in the 250B class? That is way more impressive than winning the C class on a newer bike

My kid won a moto/2nd overall on a 2023 85 we paid $2500 for this year lol

He didn’t win 250B on the ‘85. He won the Two stroke B/C class. But yes, still impressive and that was so cool.

Congratulations to your kid! That is awesome!

Jerry won the Two stroke class on the last gen CR250 done by Chad Watts. He rode the 85 in 250 B and got 11th. Still wild he was able to do that on the old bike.

Good job by your son at LL's.  If he is who I think he is, I assume he had bad gate picks both 1st motos.  Hopefully a little more support will come for next year after his results at the ranch.

How many hours are yall getting out of top ends and clutches at the Ranch? Always curious because the 85 class motors seem to be 15,000 RPM around the whole track!

I do pistons every 20-25 hours or so, clutches maybe 20-40 hours. Then I have someone professionally do it every other top end since I barely know what I’m doing.
