Suzuki actually might have gotten away with it, if they designed the big bikes like this. I mean, the original Kawasaki Uni-Trak was pretty close in design also, but the bottom of the shock attached to the frame, and the top linkage part was only a single attachment point from the rods that connected to the swingarm.

Here's a clearer view of the system with the airbox, etc., removed so you can see the components -

Pictures of, purportedly, one of DRs earliest Rod and Rocker rear ends, during a Test on a Husky : Please Note - these pics can be found on the Internet - the theft from 'The Greek' was perpetrated long ago. I've got them marked as 1974 - could be wrong, and, certainly, he would have made something before this very sano Husky, with C&J decals on it. Of note is the lower shock mount, it's hard to determine if it's on the forward section of the swingarm, or, on a mount directly to the frame or engine mount. I just...

This is what the Full Floater looks like after Honda flips it upside-down and their marketing department gets done naming it -

it runs off the primary crank gear and has a weight on the end of it that acts against the forces of combustion with the crank. It is similar to a small flywheel weight in that it takes a lot of 'hit' out of an engine, but it does it at precise intervals. Big bore 2 strokes need it most...

In my opinion, the production rule of 1985 did very little. It was supposed to bridge the gap between privateer teams and the factory teams, but the gap still seems to be the same. It was Yamaha's idea at the time, and they probably just didnt' have Honda's budget back then. Bring it back, and either set a few minor...

I would. Weege is amazing and outside of this dumb thread I’ve never seen people complain about him. Stews insight is bar none. His ability to analyze and convey what’s happening on the track is insane. Few people alive can read and communicate what’s happening with the rider and bike on his level, let alone make it funny and digestible. This thread is top tier vitard action.

And the original Honda Open class bike, the horrible 1981 CR450R was really 431cc. Suzuki was even stranger. The 1978 RM400 was 402cc. The 79 & 80 models were 417cc.
