I'm kind of ambivalent about it, but I could go with zehn on this. Honestly, I really don't care though as SX is just a filler for me until outdoors starts. My biggest hope for the SX season is that the guys get through it healthy enough to race MX.

More would be cool, but only on the condition that they change it up. I can't feel good for the riders putting down 60+ laps of racing at Detroit for only 26 points. The turn around is too quick and the payout isn't worthwhile when compared to the traditional format. I feel that it would be best if they made each main slightly longer (17 for 450 and 13 for 250) and did 2 mains with points paying out to each. A series with 3 of those races will turn the 17 round series into a 20 round series while maintaining the same length.

How about 5 triple crowns that also host a *telivised* 125 pro am championship in between main events (2 races)

3 is good, no more than 5 is the maximum.

In my opinion something could/should be worked out a bit too regarding the points : 26 points for 40 minutes of racing with the full gate is not well rewarded !

Get rid of triple crowns and have more East/West shootouts.

If they can square away their Futures program and get a legitimate class of 125 riders, that would be perfect. To me, that sounds like both a pipe dream and a long way out. I think a better idea would be to get the would-be LCQ classes to run a small dash for cash race where the winner gets a small paycheck. Have $1000 to the 250 winner and $2000 to the 450 winner. Give the riders enough incentive to give it the beans (money and TV broadcast time as well as a quick interview for them to get their sponsors on air).

The casual viewer wants to see two things: the elite of the elite going at it, or an absolute brawl. The LCQ's are more often than not the gnarliest races of the night and I feel that Feld would be wise to put those dudes in a little more of the spotlight. Give us two points-paying mains for the big boys and a winner takes all LCQ to split them up.

SX is not motocross and was never intended to be. Injecting the endurance requirement of MX into SX I doubt was ever part of the thought process.

SX makes it easier for promoters to sell more tickets and make a sport that could be successful on TV which benefits all.

People have short attention spans and I have seen it come into play during the last half of a normal SX race as the racers kind of look like that are just putting in laps. SX was made for the masses not purists like us.

The three starts are exciting. The races are shorter so easier for most to watch the whole thing. Having multiple 'winners' is good for the fans. Their guy has a greater chance of scoring a victory even if it is just one of the three events.

You have to admit it is fun to see different guys win that most likely would not have in a 20 minute main.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills reading this thread. Have the only people that dislike the format found this thread? Everyone I’ve talked to loves the format. “Snooze fest?” Every triple crown this year has produced awesome racing front to back and has given us some new winners.

I think they have the right amount, though I personally would like maybe another added but the schedule.

Change the whole series to 2 mains - would be more entertaining live and on tv

I think every race with indoor pits near the track need to be triple crown events.

I think it is good to try new things but if there are more TC's - it will hurt the sport in the long run. On the night show they only have 22 guys per class and they dont show the last chance qualifiers. The sponsors of the 20-40 place riders will go away as they dont get the exposure they are paying for. We need more money, more riders and the TC's do the opposite.

They could if it was 3 separate events.

Like how it is. Mixes up the season a bit. I like most of the changes they have made over the last few years. Keeps it interesting.

I’m not a huge fan. 2 mains at the most. It’s too much for the riders. They have to be exhausted.

They asked this question at the post race presser...I liked Dylan's answers. It's not a question of rider fitness...it's more to do with the lack of down time between the races from a mechanics point of view. Especially if the pits are far from the track. This does bring up the question...if bikes can stand up to 30 +2 at MX without needing attention...is SX that much more demanding on the bike?

This. It's terribly unclear. They could easily place a second, differently colored box by everyone's name that shows the overall points/position of each rider during the race, according to position. So fans can know exactly how many passes Wilson would have to make to get 2nd over Musquin or whatever.

Yeah something, also no updates on what winning the triple crown series means , whats the prize?
Nothing?
My though is try 2 moto Format.
I think its been done way back in time , but not in my
Years of watching. Which is since 1989

its more racing so that's good. I don't like how the 3rd main is usually sit where I am for the overall. its smart and you have to do it but not exciting battles. maybe the 3rd main is weighted and worth a few more points?

Wait until one of these trippple crown races is a swamp race like we had earlier this year. That will be a nightmare.

Last race can be a lazy “hang in there” for second or third place to take the overall. It’s a great scenario for a season title when they have worked all season for it and they cruise the last race. But not on a regular weekend scenario. Plus the privateers lose out big time on triple crown weekends. And the waiting around for two hours after qualifying does blow!

Agreed. Not a fan at all.

And damn it make the 250s full time and add a 125 regional class.

There is not enough racing through the program right now regardless of how they try to scramble it all up.

I want more, because

1. Riders can salvage their nights from one bad ride.. unlike the singular main event

2. More times to see the top riders instead of two times a night.. (heat, main)

3. It's a hell of alot more exciting than 1 main event... You get 3 peak performance motos.

I've loved all the triple crowns... 3 motos and olympic scoring for the whole season for me and it lends to better racing.

Because it doesn't allow for the snoozefest that cooper webb could turn it into. People are quick to forget the mcgrath era that had people leaving the stands after the first 5 laps... Same with ricky and even some james races shit even reeds had some boring ass 20 lap mains.. where theres like no battles, no nothing just find your position and hope somebody crashes.

I vote for perma triple crowns.

I think your right on with the reasons why, and im glad they did
But i dont think its not
Quite right yet and needs some fine tuning imo.
And some of the races you mentioned where it felt like a forgone conclusion where a little boring.
