Did Tomac have bike issues?

He sure didn't look anything like himself. Anyone have any insight? Maybe a shock or brake problem?

He didn't look great all day. The track was rutted and tough but the red plate was probably very very heavy. Not a great performance by him, too bad.

I believe Bagget broke Tomac mentally a few years back in the 250's at the last race for a championship so it can happen.

I agree he didn't look great all day but he was riding well in the beginning of the main and pulling away from the pack till he fell, leads me to believe something was wrong.

I see a pattern with Tomac where clay based tracks, and the ruts they produce, seem to cause him more trouble. Not just ruts, but the combo with the dirt composition.

I wonder how many points a season guys with E-start gain, on average? Starting to think the weight more than pays off.

I called it early in the race day thread. He was doing crazy combos but was almost cart wheeling on the easy stuff. Then washes out in a corner with the lead and takes a century to get going again.

Wasn't just a bad race. He threw in the towel. Was sad to see. Crash and get up and try and get 4th or 5th. Minimize damage. He was frustrated ALL day. And he let it boil over in the main and literally cost himself a championship. That's being mentally weak.

Dungey got smokedast weekend and he could have easily threw in the towel against the monster Eli train. But he didn't. And that's why he will soon be a 4x champion. And Tomac will have ZERO championships on the 450.

And I say this as a huge Tomac fan and a lukewarm Dungey fan. You gotta give respect to Dungey. He's the Diesel for a reason. And Tomac is a hot BMW that's always in the shop parked for repairs.

He took forever to get going after the crash, almost like he was freezing up. I was waiting for him to pass out!!!!

Tough to watch Tomac wash out like that and then seemingly gave up on the spot - even being a big fan of Dungey. Respect to both riders, the work and effort they put in is monumental, and with the stakes as high as they are on a race like this one - it must be damn near impossible to keep your mind and emotions in check.

It's not luck. Dungey doesn't rattle. Robert Horry, MJ, Brady, The Goat. The don't quite, they grind you until you break. Tough dudes.

All day he didn't look great. He would do some good laps and then some sloppy. IMO is the track and him weren't working.

Tomac did have a bad night, but Dungey's extra 3 points for winning due to cheating was bad also. Makes Dungey, Musquin, and KTM look bad, as it was not the "honest" thing to do.

What weight? The KTMs and Huskies are 7-8 lbs. lighter than the Kawies.

Enough of the team tactics. Wow. The bottom line is Tomac made mistakes, Dungey didn't. There isn't a team on the planet that doesn't let the Champ by. Cmon guys most of us atleast fairly Intelligent. Don't do it on this issue. Please don't go down that hole.

It did look like he was moving pretty slow, maybe he twisted something in the crash? Maybe he's sick?

Anyone can have a bad day, but to my eye I doubt that's all it was with Tomac today. My guess is either banged up from a mid-week crash, or illness, that they kept quiet either way. Could be wrong, but his body language on the bike just looked like he was either weak or hurting to me. I imagine that's what I look like all the time.
