We used to have a bunch of beat up sand tracks around where I Lived north of Albany Ny...we were trespassing but if you used your head nobody bothered you. they are all gone now....we were very Protective of our local riding spots...almost Like surfers are with their waves...we would work on the tracks, cutting trees & brush back and occasionally renting equipment to clean up the tracks! I've just gotten into MTB and I have to disagree with you. I'm actually losing interest in moto because MTB is so easy and cheap for me. I can throw my bike in the back of my ute, drive a short way, hit the trail for a couple of hours and head home, and it costs nothing. To do the same for moto is all day and costs around $100. I will admit though, riding a MTB up hills sucks balls

If someone bought these for $2,000 it would be doing you a huge favor. I love how people will list shit for ridiculously high and say people are broke for pointing out it's not worth it. Maybe if YOUR broke ass didn't need $3k so bad, you would sell it for market value with the wear factored in.
