Early news. Teams done. Another big loss. News will come out
I hope this is incorrect, They are the first family of nascar so the writings on the wall if the cant make a buck. Say what you will about the yellow-hog or Jbone but less rides is not a good thing.

In all honesty, convince me that JGR is worth more than $300K per year. Can you? What do they bring to the table for Suzuki that they aren't already getting out of the HEP team & the numerous privateer riders in both classes?

Cuz from my perspective, JGR hasn't had the results the last several years to be in any sort of position to leverage for a bigger contract from Suzuki. Martin has been the standout....maybe the Suzuki offer would have been bigger with a 250 championship, but the JGR team is infamous for all of the shoulda-coulda-woulda seasons with all of the talent they have had.

The 2021 SX schedule looks sketchy (at best) due to COVID, TV market/exposure is already going to be reduced compared to a normal year.

Suzuki didn't pull the rug from under JGR - they made them an offer commensurate with the economic/market conditions in addition to JGR's results from the last few years, JGR made the final call that they couldn't do the deal. Why can't JGR re-scale their operation to $300K? They could go racing for $300K if they focused on only supporting 1 rider/bike and a leaner support staff.
Convince me the bike is worth racing? The bizarre part is they just crushed it in motoGP so they are capable of building great motorcycles and race teams. Stop buying Suzukis so they are forced to redesign or go away. Corporations only change if you hit them in the pocket book!

Success in racing is measured by wins!

I’m pretty sure they are counting their stint so far in NASCAR by their wins, not by that they showed up!

How many times does Suzuki have to come out and say it? They dont build mx bikes for top level racers off the showroom floor. They build mx bikes for everyone else that wants to ride but not have an all out race bike from the start. But, the platform is there if they do want to build it up for racing. They have said this multiple times over the years. Their mx line is for a wide range of customers, not focused in on the all out racer.

Straight from Suzukis website:
"The 2021 RM-Z450 remains the champion’s choice, as its sleek, race-ready appearance, strong engine, and nimble chassis continue the Suzuki tradition of extraordinarily precise handling.

The RM-Z450 epitomizes Suzuki’s “Winning Balance” philosophy with strong brakes for controlled stopping power, a wide spread of engine muscle with high peak power, and a strong, light, and more nimble chassis that remains the class standard for cornering performance and extraordinarily precise handling. Add to that leading ergonomics, beautiful styling and unmatched reliability and you’ve got the perfect race-ready machine."

So what are you talking about?

They got it all wrong:
"The 2021 RM-Z450 remains the average riders' choice, as its sleek, ride-ready appearance, decent engine, and nimble chassis continue the Suzuki tradition of ordinarily precise handling.

The RM-Z450 epitomizes Suzuki’s “Top 10-15 Balance” philosophy with strong brakes for controlled stopping power, a wide spread of engine muscle with not too high peak power, and a strong, light, and more nimble chassis that remains in the top 6 class standard for cornering performance and ordinarily precise handling. Add to that standard ergonomics, beautiful styling and easily matched reliability and you’ve got a ride-ready machine."

We are seeing this come to fruition. I work in the material handling industry(forklifts) so we mainly deal with manufacturing companies. Not all but most are expecting a negative impact on business for the next 3-5 years. Right now is the time that companies are starting to shrink budgets and cut costs anyway they can. As a result we have seen an upswing is used sales, and a drop in new sales. With coronavirus and the new presidency you are going to see more companies operating on a shoe string budget.

I work in the lumber industry and we are currently working at record levels and just ordered 6 new forklifts, but I know its different all over the country.
We see that to here in the northeast. The lumber and fencing companies are making $$$$$. This is only going to last a short amount of time. There is a boom of people moving from cities to out in the suburbs.

Just waiting for the trucker to drop off my new Suzuki RMZ250. Over two grand less than the rest, on my home track I'm sure it will be awesome. It can keep my other two Suzuki mx'ers company. Been riding Suzuki since 88 when Husky was sold to the Italians.

No they would not because i have ridden multiple years going back to 2008. for years i did demo days with every brand. always disappointed in yellow. If "they" had the option to race ANY other brand they would. Its heavier and slower has not been on the podium since Reed. Don't let emotions and nostalgia cloud your judgement. If you had to win and pay your own way you would never pick a suzuki. my dad was a test rider and rode the street bikes across the country Just to get to texas they went through several heads, made no changes and released the bike to unsuspecting fan boys such as yourself. Don't be stuck on any brand my friend choose the best and take your ego out of the equation.

Show us where they say that. The ads that pick the memory are of them bragging about most race wins a decade ago.

I’d say more than even, it looked better than geico considering he was hitting the leap and only star yamahas were doing it besides him.

Put Ferrandis on the zuk 250 and he’s still 2020 250 champ. Put Troll on a star bike and he’s still a solid 6th-4th dude most of the time.

It probably took a shit load more effort to get that rmz to where they got it. But they got it there none the less

I totally disagree. The Star Bikes consistently put all those blue bikes at the front of the pack off every single start.

Yeah, and then Ferrandis was the only one who could keep them there consistently.

Are you disagreeing on troll being 4-6 if he was on a star bike? Or are you disagreeing that Ferrandis would still be the champ on a zuk? I feel like the power of the star bike did not will ferrandis into a championship. More often than not he got starts that weren’t very good, and rode his way through the pack. I feel like he could have accomplished that on any bike.
