I disagree that every track should be built differently. The top riders don’t really have “that much” time on the track each week and it’s nice for a professional racer to go to the track each week and have the familiarity to know how hard they have to hit each jump. The dirt in itself is the separator each week and the track crew is able to mix it up with different styles of rhythms, but the steepness/transitions/length and height of the jumps should be consistent.

but putting the track discussions aside, Jerry is one of the nicest guys I’ve met at the track when I met him a few years back and my stomach immediately sank when I heard the news. I don’t wish this to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Moto is a love hate relationship and there’s nothing I want more than to Jerry to wake up in the morning and be able to wiggle his toes, move his legs and start making a recovery to getting back to 100%. We’re all rooting for you to get through this, Jerry! Only love and prayers to you and your family and friends 🙏🏻

A bunch of down votes from a bunch of people who will never ride a supercross track, typical vital.

but thoughts and prayers to Jerry I’m gutted for him and his family and hope only positive news is to follow 🙏🏻

Horrible news…. I can’t imagine the emotions involved with just hoping you can walk again some day.

Jerry, we’re praying for your best recovery.

Hard to read. I can only imagine what he and his family are going through.

Is there a Road2Recovery for him? Or GoFundMe.

I tried looking last night and this morning and haven/t seen anything just yet.

Hopefully someone starts something - I'm sure the family can use whatever help they can get.

I remember when James Marshall got hurt back in San Diego 2006. On Bushwood we started a fund to help the family. In just a couple hours we had raised enough to fly them out to San Diego and pay for hotel ,food ect.. Tried to help them in anyway we could.

Gutted for Jerry and his family. I really hope he recovers / responds well to any treatments and they work.

I am a bike guy through and through, but in my opinion, SX is something young riders should really just steer clear of.

Quite often there is no room for error. Of course it is the cash cow for the whole US racing scene so we wil just ignore this....

Hoping for the best outcome possible. Sending positive thoughts. Sucks to see bad things happening to good people.

Very sad. I pray he keeps as positive outlook as he can, and that he has a full recovery.

This is absolutely the worst part of our sport, but it’s also part of what draws us to it. Not sure there is a good answer.

One day at a time Jerry. Hoping you find comfort in the small victories and determination in each new challenge. We are all pulling for you, no doubt.

This sport is less each week Jerry is not lining up.  Two years ago a young man sitting in the back of a van with a bum shoulder hoping to make the main.  He was determined to keep going, and I enjoy that story more than the hour long line at the factory rigs for a signed picture.  That is the sport I love.  This part of it…no.  I pray you make it back to where you see success.  If that is a normal life outside of Supercross, or back on the gate, I hope with every fiber of my being that you make it happen.  From my relatively short interaction with you, I know you will.  Stay strong brother!

jeez. Keep your head up kid - I"ll just pray that this all sorts itself out. The body is pretty amazing at healing itself. Prayers, young man.

It's a crazy sport and honestly a crazy life we live, where within 24 hours your hopes go from making a main event to just being able to someday use your legs again. A reminder to appreciate what we have, and hopefully we get no more sad reminders like this.

I was scrolling Instagram a few years back when I saw a post from Jerry tagging his girlfriend (now wife). I was blown away because I knew her very well from school and was

a) blown away because we're from a small random town in Washington and couldn't believe the odds that they had somehow met lol

b) jealous because I was dirt poor growing up and my first big bike was a 1985 CR250, the same bike Jerry won on so I was a big fan of him and now she's hanging out with him lol

Anyways, my best friend from high schools sister is best friends with Jenn, his wife. They found out I was a huge fan and out of no where Jerry sent me a signed jersey that I now have hanging framed on my wall. Praying for the best for both Jerry and Jennifer.

Wishing all the best for Jerry. Sucks that these things happen, but no one is forcing these guys to be out there.

As many have pointed out, this part of SX/MX is always present unfortunately. So very sorry for Jerry and his family. Praying for a full recovery for him. Wasn’t he one of the guys that rode a two stroke for a long time? 🙏❤️✝️
