mxtech1 Started a new thread MX-Tech Suspension Review KTM 250 SX
4/6/2013 2:31am I would like to share my experience and review from having my 2010 KTM 250 SX suspension worked by MX-Tech Suspension! My profile name nor am I affiliated with MX-Tech Suspension, just a coincidence. Just giving an honest review from a paying customers point of view. Why I chose MX-Tech? I called around to several places including Factory Connection, Pro-Action...

4/5/2013 1:56pm Keep in mind that when you turn the petcock off and run the engine until the fuel supply is depleted, you aren't getting a full fuel spray to the motor. At the end when the motor is just barely running at starting to cut out, you aren't running enough fuel and oil into the motor. With a 2 stroke, I...

4/3/2013 6:07pm Walnut is always fun and the track is always prepped to perfection just like a race day. Usually Walnut draws over 100 bikes just for practice days. They usually break the bike classes up into A,B,C and then minis and a quad class. Most sessions are 15 minutes so you usually get to ride about once an hour. Walnut typically...
mxtech1 Added a reply to KTM having reliable issues with the tiddler?
4/3/2013 3:57pm Off road motorcycles are a tough market for manufactures. It is tough to warranty or prove a machine contained manufacturing defects due to the extreme nature of offroad riding. One should just assume that once they roll that bike out of the dealership, it is their responsibility for all repairs and longevity. It is very difficult as a consumer to...
mxtech1 Added a reply to Air forks: brilliant or sales killing blunder
4/2/2013 3:46pm 90% of you wouldn't know or feel the difference between the conventional fork and an air fork in a blind test. If you don't own a bike that has the air fork, you are just regurgitating information that you have heard in the media. Support the sport, buy a new bike with air forks and then bring your personal experience...

4/2/2013 3:37pm He had some really good rides last year and showed the speed to be around the top 5, but he seemed to have some bad luck with crashes. I'm rooting for him to put in some strong finishes, he seems to be a guy that could have a good series if he ran the entire season in SX.

3/27/2013 2:26pm I'm a sheet metal engineer willing to work with a metal-crafter. I'll do the solid modeling and flat patterns for a cone pipe if someobody has the tools to build one. To me, it would take a qaulity english wheel and a roll machine to make a nice cone pipe. The fixturing would be a little challenging, but not too...

3/26/2013 3:38pm Have the calipers blasted with a walnut shell media. They will come out looking like new! Then just order news seals and pistons for the calipers. This method also works great on the outside of enginer cases. I ride alot of D17 tracks so I'm hoping to see you out with this bike this year!! Awesome build man

3/26/2013 11:15am Great idea guys!! Everyone complains that 4 strokes exhaust cost $1,000+ for full systems. Full PC or FMF 2 stroke systems can be had for about $350 and are lighter than stock to reduce the weight on a bike that is typically already 20 pounds lighter than it's 4 stroke counterpart. Sounds like a great idea to buy a $300...

3/26/2013 7:55am I just saw a set of new forks on Ebay last night. I think they were around $1300 including triple clamps.

mxtech1 Started a new thread Where to get taller (raised) footpegs?
3/23/2013 2:58pm I've seen pictures of factory bikes running modified foot pegs that are taller than stock for the riders with shorter legs. Before I go to Ebay and buy a couple of peg-sets to hack up and modify, i'm curious to know if any aftermarket companies make a peg that has the ability to purchased in different height variations? I am...

I buy from a local automotive speed shop. I was talking to one of the emplyees and I guess they get a pretty good dealer price on all their VP fuel because they buy such large quantities. They mostly specialize in dirt track stock car and drag racing fuels, which those guys are usually buying mutliple 55 gallon drums at...
mxtech1 Added a reply to 2014 YZ250 Price Point
3/19/2013 2:50pm Here's a better thought....why would you even buy one? Yamaha has neglected the YZ line for 7 years now, but they continue to sell the bike and increase the price every year. If that's not a b!tch slap in the face to customers I don't know what is. Buy a KTM, TM, or Husky. At least they develop and improve...

3/16/2013 8:59am Digger... Do you have Factory Connection suspension on that? I'm debating on FC or MX Tech for doing the suspension on my 250 SX. Any opinions on how yours works? When you did the CF dip on your silencer did you use a Silver CF or Black CF pattern?
mxtech1 Added a reply to RM 250 flywheel removal
3/16/2013 8:40am I would not recommend using a gear puller. You would be increasing the chance of damaging the end of your crank if you are not using the proper puller. Save yourself the time, money, and headaches and just buy the proper tool. Check Pit Posse for the best prices on tools.
Race gas not needed, but highly recommended!! Try VP 110 and jet accordingly. You will be amazed how much cleaner it revs. I would take that flywheel weight off. The stock engine runs pretty smooth without an arm-jerking hit. The flywheel weight is going to make the engine feel dull if you are riding mx. Other than that they handle...
