mxtech1 Added a reply to TEMU and its excessive amount of moto gear

In my honest opinion, the average American IS willing to pay a bit more for US made products. What they are NOT willing to do is pay 10-20x profit margin markups on products just because they are USA made. There's a big difference between those two thoughts and I feel it's appropriate that we treat them as such. I try...

It’s actually a good source for Industry motorcycle news. Most companies are socially active and post interesting material. There’s been many times where I see a cool post on LinkedIn before I see similar news in any of my other news sources.
I have a ‘22 MC450. Never have experienced shifting issues. False neutral and true neutral are 2 different things. You are talking about ease of shifting into true neutral position. Just because it takes more effort and precision to get into neutral doesn’t inherently make it a bad design. It has a purpose and you’ve now defeated that False neutrals...
There's nothing there that would be applicable towards a patent. All you did was take an existing design and massage the contact pattern to permit easier shifting into neutral, which I think is a terrible idea BTW. You certainly use 2nd gear while riding, how do you know you haven't created a higher likelihood of slipping into neutral from 2nd...

All Factory teams are digging deep to analyze failed parts, similar to what you’d expect in any other industry. Satellite teams will lack some of the resources to go as deep, while also exponentially more reliant upon aftermarket companies for engineering support where parts would otherwise be in-house factory made for the big teams. This could be challenging, especially for...

It'll be interesting to see how quickly HRC can get the bike turned around to unlock Jo's full potential. Need to keep in mind that Honda has spent the last how many years designing & massaging that 250 package to suite Jett & Hunter's techniques & ability. Physically, Jo's so much smaller than Jett or Hunter, both weight & height...

Most of the failures seem to be traceable back to issues with the OEM gear shaft stiffness. Most teams are going to utilize an aftermarket approach with custom designed shafts, dogs, & gears with stronger (more $$$$) materials & superior manufacturing methods to increase the overall stiffness of the gearbox while also improving shifting performance & fine tuning the gear...

Too much split screen as well as too much footage coming from an $800 drone that shoots amateur level video quality. Do better guys.
I firmly believe that, at a minimum, Triumph's PRODUCTION engine will be on par with all the other OEMs. They've certainly purchased all the other colors, had them on the dyno, & fully tore down every one of them to understand what they are competing against. Their RACE engines may take some time to develop, but they 100% have the...

He gave a very vague answer: “Well, we do run the dual injection system no doubt. It’s a huge performance gain for a feasible price, IMO. We did track it to an injector problem, that caused the issue, but it wasn’t a failure of the dual injection part of things. Just an injector issue. It’s just crazy how it all...

The sensor itself is most likely off the shelf and fairly robust, however once you bring that sensor into a new application (such as a new motor package for '24 in Club's case) the system reliability becomes unknown until enough hours are accumulated to discover all the possible failure modes. Could have been something as simple as moisture getting into...

Probability of anything mechanical failing on the throttle body itself is extremely low. From what I’ve pieced together, the problem didn’t present itself until Phil’s practice start on the parade lap. Once the throttle goes wide open, the ECU is calling for a specific fuel trim & timing strategy to achieve full load at rated speed. I’m assuming they’re using...

I’m thinking the bike was fine while cool but as Phil built some heat into it one of the sensors started going out of range

I’m sure they had it hooked up to a laptop as soon as they got the bike back to the pits to look at all the CAN signals as well as the onboard data from the sighting lap which might have shown some leading indicators. Most likely some sort of sensor fault that controls fuel delivery and/or timing. The challenge...
